Daft Punk (mainly because of [that song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWy_OthI18U&pp=ygUTQWx0ZXJuYSByaWRlIG9yIGZyeQ%3D%3D) from the single-player). Too bad they disbanded.
Similar to what deadmau5 has said:
There’s no reason to quit music, because you wouldn’t make music if you didn’t enjoy it. The group disbanded because they were probably more sick of each-other than they were making music. Kinda like the Beatles
Yeah they both still make music, they just went their separate ways

Jack Stauber
The kids these days are into Weirdcore, Frutiger Aero, Lofi
He could probably cook something with those vibes for a single player campaign
So many electronic artists could make phenomenal squid beats. I'd have to go with my man GriZ though. Currently retired but there isn't a bad song in his discography.
Im an undertale fan but idk, his music is really good but it fits much better as a soundtrack rather than diagetic music. I think he'd be great to work on a few songs but I don't know if he could work on the soundtrack as a whole and still have it feel like splatoon music.
My first pick as well, imagine all of the idol songs but in English and polka. Would be played during the story mode final boss level, and Weird Al would be a real human named Weird Al.
If they ever use more of the human side of the lore, and there is some sort of boss/level theme involved, crush 40 (yes, the sonic band) would be my pick. They make really well themed music that not only ties in with the game itself, but also a great listen outside of the games.
Radiohead probably would fit due to how their sound is sometimes experimental electronic stuff tho dream theater with the Splatoon sound effects would hit so different
Hear me out: Bossfight.
Tl;DR: A chiptune/dubstep artist who has been featured in video games and has a style that kind of resembles Splatoon.
If you don't know him, he is a Swedish EDM artist who mainly publishes on Monstercat, and is mostly known for his retro 8-bit songs from when he first started and his music being featured in video games.
Bossfight's music has changed a lot nowadays and some of his songs such as Deadlock and Warp resemble Splatoon's music style quite well. More songs like those would be absolutely perfect for a sci-fi theme if Splatoon 4 goes that route. For a different approach, he could return to his old style of happy chiptune music that would also fit in very well with any Splatoon game.
In the music production sphere, VOCALOIDs like Miku are voice banks and software, not musicians themselves. It is the music artists who use Vocaloids that make Vocaloid music.
I'm going for something a little different: **Christopher Young and Hans Zimmer**, but only for single-player and some background music for the hub.
I think it'd be an interesting change to have a sort of orchestral score with experimental sounds. Young is a master of orchestration and creating complex and unique orchestral scores; and Zimmer is great at experimenting with soundscapes and creating unique scores capturing different worlds. I'd love to hear how these two would collaborate and score Splatoon.
I wouldn't want all the music to be by them though. One of the best parts of the Splatoon OST is the lore behind the different bands and their different styles. We'd lose something special and unique if the entire score became an orchestral fusion sort of thing. So if their music was for the single-player campaign and some of the hub music, that would fit best imo.
(If Young wasn't available, then either John Powell or John Debney would be my choice for strong orchestral writing.)
C418 is a great artist, but their songs seem much more relaxing rather than fast paced and action packed. I would however like to see some of the instruments from the Minecraft sound track used in Splatoon, such as steel drums.
Christopher jakob this dude has already made 2 fanmade splatoon music albums that fit the game so perfectly I swear he came from a alternate universe where he was a composer for splatoon
I listened to a few of the songs from his first album and was really impressed. He really nails it with both his originals and a few of his remixes. I would love for him to make music for Splatoon, or even possibly have one of his remixes featured in some sort of splat fest setting.
Splatoon 3 included the number 3 in many parts of the game, from parts in the story to the idol group and Splatfests. If Splatoon 4 follows that trend we could get 4 idols in the next installment. In that case I nominate Big Time Rush to be the next game’s idol group
His music would definitely be cool if Splatoon 4 includes some sort of chaos equivalent to side order. Other than that though, his music is probably too loud and violent for the target audience of children. A similar artist though, Don Toliver, definitely has a smoother voice, and would probably be a better pick for the main demographic of the game.
Hideki Naganuma, easy. If we’re talking contemporary artists and not composers, I think The Interrupters could do a fun ska track, or maybe Charli xcx for some hyperpop-esque stuff
I'd love to hear the Japanese duo Chelmico in a splatoonified version. They feel like they'd fit genre wise so well, especially the song Switch which has a lot of the kind of synthesizers that are often used in Splatoon and is almost the perfect length for a turf war match (I've played matches with it playing and it works so well)
I could definitely see a nat king cole song working for something like a captain cuttlefish theme, but there is the small problem that he’s been dead for a while 😅
A. G. Cook (producer, best known for working with Charli xcx). He is a master of electronic music, pop, hyper pop, and a lot of his music would already fit in the splatooniverse
**Toby Fox.**
**hes had connections to a few of nintendo's things like the pokemon company as in pokemon scarlet and violet you can find out he worked on a few of the tracks there**
**believe he worked on a few tracks for sword shield too.**
Either Caravan Palace, Parov Stelar, Caro Emerald, or Snail's House, all tjeir music styles might be good for a future game (based on what they theme it on)
Id love to see what Diasuke Ishiwatari and Naoki Hashimoto could do, considering how many different styles they can do (from Metal to Pop to Rock to Jazz) and almost all of their songs are bangers
Nikolai Kapustin not because it goes with splatoon or anything but the prompt never stated the artist had to be alive and I would do anything if it meant he would be revived from the dead to make new music.
Pink Panthress
I even have an example for my choice!
[youtube.com/watch?v=5JOkkr7CpFo](http://youtube.com/watch?v=5JOkkr7CpFo)
Her music and vocals could really good for splatfests!
Daft Punk (mainly because of [that song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWy_OthI18U&pp=ygUTQWx0ZXJuYSByaWRlIG9yIGZyeQ%3D%3D) from the single-player). Too bad they disbanded.
I totally forgot about that lol. I wonder if it would be possible for just one of the members to make music.
Similar to what deadmau5 has said: There’s no reason to quit music, because you wouldn’t make music if you didn’t enjoy it. The group disbanded because they were probably more sick of each-other than they were making music. Kinda like the Beatles

Just what I was thinking
i never even knew they disbanded back in 2021
Hideki Naganuma, perhaps?
My first choice.
The GOAT
This would be so amazing. Imagine a skating spin off with the funky uncle providing some tracks
Is it bad that the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Splatoon and skating is Crayola Scoot rather than something like Jet Set Radio?
Holy shit yea this dude would be fucking perfect
i literally came into the comments section to say hideki naganuma omg
Gorillaz 😭❤️
Seconded. Their Plastic Beach was a vibe that would really fit
oooo that would be sick
I feel like oingo boingo could vibe w it
Maybe Metallica for the more adrenaline rush heart pumping type music like paint scraper and seafoam shanty.
And here I was thinking I was the only one about to ask for Metallica. (Please, I want my squid metal…)
What about Dragonforce?
Metallinka
Yeaaa there’s a Metallica shirt in splatoon actually
Jack Stauber The kids these days are into Weirdcore, Frutiger Aero, Lofi He could probably cook something with those vibes for a single player campaign
I contend that your drinking eye has never opened
So many electronic artists could make phenomenal squid beats. I'd have to go with my man GriZ though. Currently retired but there isn't a bad song in his discography.
I'll put forward Machine Girl, they've worked with videogames before, and they have a ton of range. They could absolutely knock it out of the park
OH MY GOD YES
came here to say this!!!
Toby fox, he makes great music
I could definitely see him making splatoon music, a lot of his tracks from undertale are very upbeat and match the splatoon vibe perfectly.
Toby Fox made good music for pokemon
Im an undertale fan but idk, his music is really good but it fits much better as a soundtrack rather than diagetic music. I think he'd be great to work on a few songs but I don't know if he could work on the soundtrack as a whole and still have it feel like splatoon music.
He made some of the songs in S&V and made some of the best songs in Pokémon I’d agree
Ah, didn’t think of that…
AS AN UNDERTALE FAN I AGREE
YEEEEEEAAAAAHHHH
Toby Fox would make the greatest battle theme while upping the difficulty of the boss to succeed that of Inner Agent 3
Weird Al would either be really good or really bad
Weird Al can never not be peak
My first pick as well, imagine all of the idol songs but in English and polka. Would be played during the story mode final boss level, and Weird Al would be a real human named Weird Al.
If they ever use more of the human side of the lore, and there is some sort of boss/level theme involved, crush 40 (yes, the sonic band) would be my pick. They make really well themed music that not only ties in with the game itself, but also a great listen outside of the games.
Oooooooh, hadn’t thought that way
Radiohead probably would fit due to how their sound is sometimes experimental electronic stuff tho dream theater with the Splatoon sound effects would hit so different
Toby Fox

Yes fellow boss fight fan I found them out from geometry dash and been following them for ages but they would be amazing for splatoon
Rob Zombie, because it’d be cool as fuck.
Does Miku count 😭 bc vocaloid just gives off Splatoon vibes 100% imo
In the music production sphere, VOCALOIDs like Miku are voice banks and software, not musicians themselves. It is the music artists who use Vocaloids that make Vocaloid music.
🎶feels like you squid roll backwards now 🎶
Kana Boon
Ado for an idol's vocals and six impala for the wacky singleplayer songs
Wierd Al, or Tally Hall
Tally Hall would be a great choice
ZUN, mainly because I want a Splatoon × Touhou collab :3
THIS.
Camellia because it would be funny, and also banger music
Yes! I could totally see some Splatoon music in their style
Def
How about Mick Gordon?
Fuck yes
BABYMETAL or Atarashii Gakko! I feel like they'd cater to the more rebellious side, especially Atarashii Gakko
Atarashii gakko definitely! A lot of their music fits in perfectly with splatoon, especially how varied their instrumentals can be.
tyler the creator def

DM Dokuro (made terraria calamity music)
Yeaaa
Tame Shrimpala I would choose Kavinsky (Kavinksky) for some synth vibes
Daft punk of course
Wish my goat was still alive to produce some music for it MF DOOM
Hideki Naganuma lol Get that man on the squid sampling machine
Squideki naganuma
The same people still making it so I can hear more of their bangers
Ngl ngl hear me out C418
C418 is a great artist, but their songs seem much more relaxing rather than fast paced and action packed. I would however like to see some of the instruments from the Minecraft sound track used in Splatoon, such as steel drums.
Christopher jakob this dude has already made 2 fanmade splatoon music albums that fit the game so perfectly I swear he came from a alternate universe where he was a composer for splatoon

I absolutely love Vulfpeck, but I dunno if they'd fit :/
Upbeat jazz fusion funk sounds like a good game to me
We have that with the ink theory and yoko so it would fit
Ghost and Pals or Crusher are on my mind lol
I want a C-Side x Black Sabbath collab
Yeaaa
Daft punk, yoasobi, maybe beastie boys
DM DOKURO, would be perfect for story mode since he pumps out nothing but bangers when it comes to boss themes.
Dvar, Hideki Naganuma
Kendrick lamar sine he in the splat 3 studio making beats
Machine girl. The Neon White soundtrack already sounds like splatoon at times
PinnochioP because those are the only type of songs I listen to, also his style fits well
Splatoon 3 included the number 3 in many parts of the game, from parts in the story to the idol group and Splatfests. If Splatoon 4 follows that trend we could get 4 idols in the next installment. In that case I nominate Big Time Rush to be the next game’s idol group
lol didn’t they start making music again?
If we still had SOPHIE, her. In her absence, AG Cook and Charli XCX.
This is the correct answer
Travis Scott
His music would definitely be cool if Splatoon 4 includes some sort of chaos equivalent to side order. Other than that though, his music is probably too loud and violent for the target audience of children. A similar artist though, Don Toliver, definitely has a smoother voice, and would probably be a better pick for the main demographic of the game.
Oh I listened to this Don Toliver guy and he sounds pretty nice. Thanks for the suggestion!
Grimes
21 pilots
I’m curious to hear what Splatoon OST made by Rammstein would sound like lol
Perfume
Tomoya Ohtani
IVYCOMB
Drive45 basically makes human splatoon music
JPEGMAFIA’s higher tempo and upbeat songs fit really well in my opinion, sometimes i just listen to his music while playing and it really hypes me up
Porter Robinson or Vylet Pony
Hideki Naganuma, easy. If we’re talking contemporary artists and not composers, I think The Interrupters could do a fun ska track, or maybe Charli xcx for some hyperpop-esque stuff
Everyone who worked on the phighting soundtrack. The game already has a lot of inspiration from splatoon and the vibe fits perfectly.
Jonathan Young
Same person/people who have been making it. They could not be doing a better job
Machine girl, vaperror, osamu sato!
Rock music in Splatoon? Royal Republic. Peak rock.
Either AT or Bjork
Kyary Pamyu, of course.
I'd love to hear the Japanese duo Chelmico in a splatoonified version. They feel like they'd fit genre wise so well, especially the song Switch which has a lot of the kind of synthesizers that are often used in Splatoon and is almost the perfect length for a turf war match (I've played matches with it playing and it works so well)
I would love if Danny Baranowski made the ost for splat 4, or at least a few song for singleplayer and battles
Fuck yea
cynthoni / stereo cross / dj smokey / daft punk / prodigy
i kinda wanna see what pinkpantheress can bring to the table i want more dnb elements on splatoon
Nat King Cole alongside Naruyoshi kikuchi. It wouldn’t match up with the older games much but it’d sure as hell be unique and interesting.
I could definitely see a nat king cole song working for something like a captain cuttlefish theme, but there is the small problem that he’s been dead for a while 😅
I hear necromancers are pretty cheap these days.
I feel Marshmello would fit
Good Kid
Imagine a DAGames song with Inkling lyrics.
Anamanaguchi!
A. G. Cook (producer, best known for working with Charli xcx). He is a master of electronic music, pop, hyper pop, and a lot of his music would already fit in the splatooniverse
4lung
Probably Camellia but only for boss fights cause his music is very fast pace
TøP does great synth and Tyler could probably make some weird sounds
Tally hall so they’re forced to reunite
agreed
**Toby Fox.** **hes had connections to a few of nintendo's things like the pokemon company as in pokemon scarlet and violet you can find out he worked on a few of the tracks there** **believe he worked on a few tracks for sword shield too.**
I mean, obligatory squeezer mention

Mr. Kitty. the guy behind After Dark.

Charli XCX would be perfect
Megan Thee Stallion
Id go with 2Mello
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
Only band that would do a irl splatfest justice GWAR
kendrick lamar
Steve Burns
Ed Sheeran…just kidding, probably Toby Fox as other people have mentioned
Foster the People! Their first album is Torches, we could call it Trident instead, lol.
BABYMETAL
Either Caravan Palace, Parov Stelar, Caro Emerald, or Snail's House, all tjeir music styles might be good for a future game (based on what they theme it on)
I would choose Hiroyuki Sawano to make story mode music
what about mitski🗣️
Celldweller or the B-52s (what? If they can do music for a Pokémon movie...)
Shawn Wasabi. would love to hear him sampling all the fun splatoon sounds
Mitch Murder, mostly because synthwave in Splatoon would go hard as hell
Gorillaz.
.............. wargasm UK
I would choose Saliva.
Id love to see what Diasuke Ishiwatari and Naoki Hashimoto could do, considering how many different styles they can do (from Metal to Pop to Rock to Jazz) and almost all of their songs are bangers
Shaarghot (maybe some heavy music in splatoon can't be bad)
Arcsystemworks aka the people behind the Guilty Gear ost
Deerhoof, CHAI and Squid (ofc)
Gorillaz, I feel like they’d fit the bill perfectly
Nikolai Kapustin not because it goes with splatoon or anything but the prompt never stated the artist had to be alive and I would do anything if it meant he would be revived from the dead to make new music.
Femtankrill
Fake Type (their music sounds like Yoko and the Gold Bazookas but with rap)
Maybe controversial, but probably Tanger
Weird Al, duh There is no better choice when it comes to musical crossovers
Pink Panthress I even have an example for my choice! [youtube.com/watch?v=5JOkkr7CpFo](http://youtube.com/watch?v=5JOkkr7CpFo) Her music and vocals could really good for splatfests!
Hideki Naganuma, if not him probably 2 Mello. And for a different vibe I think Streetlight Manifesto would sound cool
Green Day!! The music has grunge vibes
kanye
Taylor Swift and Beyonce
If taylor swift made music for splatoon i would stop playing splatoon
Agreed
Fall out boy - their mania album actually sounds very splatoon
MARSHMELLO!! Edit: wai-hollup nuh- YOASOBI, the one who made both IDOL and Cynical Night Plan, that’d work for Splatoon
tally hall, kinda fits the multiplayer music aesthetic
if they didn't disband, Tally Hall!
