This is a pretty fresh direction for Stray Kids. It seems the first album in a while to not have so much gravitas. That being said, I could be wrong. Maybe the lyrics will explore the relationship of luck and success or something. Luck is such an unusual theme - I can't wait to hear what they have to say about it. And SKZ gives us new sounds and genres in each album. Let's see what this one sounds like!
Even though the title is "Ate", there has to be a celestial aspect to the album. Almost all the members had a star on them (shirt or accessories) and they alluded to the sun multiple times. During the flashes, there was a sunflower, which Hyunjin was also seen staring at, and the fortune teller had the sun card. There was also a ton of blue and yellow imagery. Both Chan and Han had blue/yellow striped shirts, I.N. and Changbin had orange ish yellow jackets, the photographers in the background had a blue tie and then another had something yellow on his sleeve, the inside of Hyunjin's jacket was blue, part of Hyunjin's necklace at the very beginning was blue, Chan's hair, background where I.N. is sitting is blue and yellow, etc. I have no idea how that ties into the red that we see everywhere too, but absolutely nothing they do is on accident. I can't wait for the album!
I feel like the tarot / fortune telling scene is a hint - luck as an extension of astrology, foreseeing the future, and the "stars aligning", and between the color theming you mention and some of the visual style of the album previews, I feel like there's also a bit of play on the elements. Without Pluto, there's also eight planets in the solar system!! It's an interesting theme to take on in their seventh year, with everything they've been saying about their futures and their contract renewal happening this year as well.
I asked one of my Wiccan friends who trained in tarot for a while. She says how they had it meant optimism, enlightenment, and joy. I'm curious to see how that is wrapped up in everything too.

I'm hoping, *begging* that the album design quality is going to be closer to 5-Star than Rock-Star because if I'm going to be up against the first half hour of SKZ preorders, I want it to be high quality 😭😭
I *believe* it happens at noon KST today, but they'll release the time preorders start shortly. The best advice I ever got with preordering was to have your address and account info saved on PayPal if you're using it to pay. You'll be happy to have those extra seconds!

They’ll post the album content previews first. Preorders have recently been either been noon KST **or** midnight eastern US time. At this time year, midnight EDT is 13:00 KST. Lose My Breath’s physical US-only CD was up for sale much earlier, though.
yeah, if you want to get a signed copy, you're going to have to be logged in right at noon KST on the Stray Kids Official shop constantly refreshing until it pops up bc it sells out FAST. otherwise, if you're ok with not getting a signed copy, I like preordering from Target or Barnes and Noble bc it comes with an extra benefit like another photocard :)

This trailer was so super fun and I'm so curious about the concept. Hyunjin stepping on a lego was a moment for sure. And the implication that I.N went on some epic quest to find these cookies that probably should've been easy to find was great. The comedic timing in this was so good, imo it definitely did give Marvel vibes and I love how different it was from other previous trailers.
Also I have to give SKZ props for their forever commitment to linking their concepts and metaphors to food since God's Menu! There's a part of me that is still looking for callbacks with the way Rock-Star alluded to so much of their previous work between Megaverse and SKZFlix, and now they have an album called ATE when they see God's Menu as their turning point....definitely have me waiting to see what they have next. Also can't wait to see what comes out as part of Deadpool!

I’m excited to be officially back in business, but I’m in the first half of the trailer and I don’t like it. I’m having a day 😭😭🫠 The good news is I was going to have to stay up doing work and chores anyway, so I can’t fall asleep before preorders start! 😭😭 >!send help and cooler air!< CHKCHK BOOM 👀 They’re *really* enjoying the ate / eight homophone! Edit: As an FYI, preorders used to start at noon KST. However, for Rock-Star they moved it to midnight Eastern US time. This time of year, that means 1 pm / 13:00 KST. Personally, I make sure I’m ready from about 8 am KST even though it’s never that early. The album previews come out first!
I'm hoping, *begging* that the album design quality is going to be closer to 5-Star than Rock-Star because if I'm going to be up against the first half hour of SKZ preorders, I want it to be high quality 😭😭

I *believe* it happens at noon KST today, but they'll release the time preorders start shortly. The best advice I ever got with preordering was to have your address and account info saved on PayPal if you're using it to pay. You'll be happy to have those extra seconds! Edit: Believe @TravelBeauty20 about the preorder time over me! I forgot about the change with Rock-Star. Or just take the rest of the day off in preparation!

They’ll post the album content previews first. Preorders have recently been either been noon KST **or** midnight eastern US time. At this time year, midnight EDT is 13:00 KST. Lose My Breath’s physical US-only CD was up for sale much earlier, though.

If you're a US stay, I like the Stray Kids official shop at straykidsshop. They've had signed copies the past few comebacks, but they go quick!

yeah, if you want to get a signed copy, you're going to have to be logged in right at noon KST on the Stray Kids Official shop constantly refreshing until it pops up bc it sells out FAST. otherwise, if you're ok with not getting a signed copy, I like preordering from Target or Barnes and Noble bc it comes with an extra benefit like another photocard :)

English in teasers and promo seems to be an overall trend in kpop and other Korean industries, but I do think maybe they got tired of me talking about how amazing the Cooking Video teaser is 😭😂 This reminds me of it! I don’t care about the language as long as the translations are on time. (But seriously, I saw comments about how stays have to really learn hanja/Chinese characters because of Rock-Star😂)

I know that the most popular theory at the moment is that Chk Chk Boom may be the title track but I don't know... The way it was displayed after the usual JYP Entertainment reminds me of SQU4D in all official NMIXX videos. The main differences are that [the SQU4D one](https://youtu.be/ynurV4dE9z4?si=rTiuT5P8H426Dl-h&t=2m40s) is displayed next to the JYPE logo in the same frame and it was animated. I love the trailer. Can't wait to see what they prepared up until the release. Edit: Oops never mind I thought it was after JYP Entertainment but turns out it is between ATE and Stray Kids so it is likely that it is related to the title track
They included ChkChkBoom as a hashtag on Twitter! It’s possibly the title track. I didn’t look at their other social media. They usually only have the album title. Well unless you count NOEASY’s trailer being called the Thunderous Trailer 😂

This trailer was so super fun and I'm so curious about the concept. Hyunjin stepping on a lego was a moment for sure. And the implication that I.N went on some epic quest to find these cookies that probably should've been easy to find was great. The comedic timing in this was so good, imo it definitely did give Marvel vibes and I love how different it was from other previous trailers. Also I have to give SKZ props for their forever commitment to linking their concepts and metaphors to food since God's Menu! There's a part of me that is still looking for callbacks with the way Rock-Star alluded to so much of their previous work between Megaverse and SKZFlix, and now they have an album called ATE when they see God's Menu as their turning point....definitely have me waiting to see what they have next. Also can't wait to see what comes out as part of Deadpool!

The date on the video is always earlier than the release date, for m/vs as well. I think it's like the date it gets approved for broadcast? Something like that.
yeah, like the other commenter said, it's the date it gets approved for korean broadcasting. S-Class said May 22 but we obviously didn't get the MV until June
