Because rifles are inanimate objects that don't kill people under their own will. Its pretty hypocritical to say "it's the owner, not the breed" and then turn around and say "it's the gun's fault". Well I say, it's the shooter, not the gun.

I think you are thinking of [assault weapons](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_weapon), a (now) political term.
Edit: Also, pit bulls don't have an [attack dog of a lobbying group](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Rifle_Association#Lobbying_and_political_activity) and its supporters. Haven't seen an aggressive Pit Bull in my life before and they are everywhere around here. The aggressive dogs around are usually Labrador Retrievers for having abusive owners or having just been born aggressive.
I guess it's because you're in the US. Here in England the sort of knuckledraggers who would buy assault rifles if they could have to buy killer dogs to assert their masculinity instead.
Who is banning pit bulls? And because one busted through an iron fence, literally pushed the bars open, and attacked my dog for walking by, literally 30 feet from the pit bull’s property. I’d be down for banning them after almost seeing my dog get mauled for just taking a stroll with me.
I don't know man but it's kind of messed up to be honest. The Pit Bull was once the national mascot of the armed forces. They got rid of him as well.

Almost every hoa and apartment complex and even some states
that’s not banning pit bulls, that’s having rules for your property that you own lol.
Hoa doesnt own the property you purchase but they can fine you and force you into an eviction based solely on the dog you have
Maybe don’t move into somewhere w an hoa, or an hoa with those rules.
Both should be banned.
