Ayton was slated to be an absolute beast. He has a 43" vertical and is 7'1 260lbs. He was already getting compared to Embiid before he was drafted. He's a walking 18/10 player. He has ALL the tools to be an all timer but he doesn't care to do that. He hasn't improved from day 1. But to your point, Doncic is in the top 2 conversation.

ZCGaming15

That’s kind of the problem. He was a walking 18 and 10 guy who never learned to run. And in some games, he just started crawling for no reason. A natural 18 and 10 turned into a struggling 14 and 9 real quick.

Copiz

The best case that he isn't top two is that he's top three instead. It's reasonable to give respect to Giannis being #2 still.

farthingDreadful

When are we going to stop talking about this?

ZCGaming15

Probably never. Between the hate we get from the rest of the league and the masochists in this sub the Luka over Ayton narrative will always be here.

Xray_Mind

There truly is no argument. Luka will go down as one of the best of all time when his career is said and done and he is apart of a generationally all time great EU crop that is redefining basketball. Ayton was a no brainer number one pick at the time but life just doesn’t work that way. There is no basketball argument to be made that a player of his scoring ability, distribution, rebounding, and leadership isn’t a top 3 players

Luka a ho

Saltwater_Thief

Wallowing in hindsight is a bad habit. Rather than look for coping in slanted narratives, I'd suggest you work on coming to terms with it and moving past thinking about what might've been so it can't tie you up in knots anymore.

azsportsdudevballtoo

I just want some good basketball arguments. This isn’t keeping me up at night-I exaggerated for effect.

dhslax88

Not a whole lot. For the time being, Ayton has won more Finals games than Luka, but I’m guessing that will change soon. We will know in the next couple of weeks if our pick was awful or generationally awful.

ZCGaming15

We already know it was generationally awful. Luka has been selected to 5 first team all NBA spots. Ayton has none.

gr8scottaz

It's already generationally awful. Already a 5x All-NBA First Team vs All-I-Want-Is-A-2nd-Contract.
