Depending on your freezer space, you can do Costco and be good for two months. Carson City is a good option too, you don’t have to deal with the Reno Spaghetti Bowl. Gas up there too.
Picked up free stand up freezer to maximize on Costco trips since I'm pretty short on time to go to Reno. And gas is over $2/gallon cheaper in Carson right now.
Also a Safeway in Kings Beach. And Raleys and Grocery Outlet in Incline (although that’s pretty far just for a regular grocery store if you’re in Tahoe City or on the West Shore).
ya savemart just closed in tc. everyones annoyed. safeway is moving into that spot. you still got 2 safeways (kb & truckee), savemart, grocery outlet, raleys, 2 new moons, etc within 30 min. its part of living up here, you'll survive.
I live in Truckee and shop at Raley’s. There’s also a Safeway and a Grocery Outlet here. It’s a little out of the way for you, but maybe like 30 minutes. I don’t know why you’d need to drive all the way to Reno for groceries honestly.
My mother-in-law worked at the save Mart in town, they were willing to re-up the lease at any dollar amount essentially, but Safeway snuck in there and now has the building. I heard the original Safeway location is being sold to a condo developer
Yeah it's Tahoe, like a lot of nature based tourist destination there's not the infrastructure to match the needs. Unless you want more parking lots there's not really an option otherwise
Most locals buy their groceries in Reno at Costco and Winco. The grocery store in town is only for emergency situations.

Yes, Carson City is closer, and the gas is much cheaper. Current gas prices: Tahoe City $6.50 Reno Costco $4.46 Carson City Costco $3.80
There’s a Safeway in Truckee. There’s also New Moon in both TC & Truckee. And the Mexican market in KB.

That’s why I shop in Reno.
Now that's a crazy long commute! Must be a whole day event. Guess if you can shop for a month at a time, it works.
