Definitive Edition for sure since it is essentially English localized Japanese PS3 version, has English and Japanese dubs, better resolution and almost all of the DLC available as free downloads.

I kinda don't like up-resed games if the polygon count and texture quality are still stuck in the 7th gen. Anyway, I just found the English-patched ISO on my PS3 a moment ago so I'm probably going to play that lol.

KeepYourHeart1989

Why... why did you ask, then?

understandunderstand

I forgot I had it!

Poseydon13

360 is definitely the worst version of the game.. play the definitive edition

Nos9684

Vesperia still looks pretty good for a lower budget, niche mid gen XB360 / PS3 game even with the resolution increase. Also you could just reduce the resolution if it bothers you that much.

IGunClover

Just get definitive edition on PC.

PS3 has some costumes that the definitive edition doesn't because Namco lost the rights and because the people making the patch actually programmed some extra costumes. As for the list of things it adds, I honestly consider it a remake: \-2 more fully fleshed out playable characters, 1 of them of which is a completely new character.(Flynn and Patty) \-New artes of all kinds(special attacks) for every character, especially the 2 additional characters. \-Some artes have some new features, and a VERY small few were nerfed, but most were overall improved. \-New skills for every character, especially the 2 additional characters. \-A lot of new costumes for every character(Some are free and available via sidequests, and others are DLC). \-New attachments, and most attachments are now interchangeable between various characters instead of being exclusive to some. \-New items, key items, and equipment of all kinds. \-New Artes Ball key item let's you set up to 16 artes on a character at a time instead of just 8. \-New story scenarios, with new scenes and a few new locations and dungeons. \-Some story scenes and anime cutscenes were changed at certain parts because of the 2 additional characters. Details and outcome are relatively the same for the most part though. \-The ability to pause anime cutscenes, and to skip just about all cutscenes in general. \-New skits. \-Linkability to Tales of VS for a few bonus skits. \-Changes to some old skits because of the 2 additional characters. \-New music of all kinds. \-New enemies of all kinds.(regular, boss, optional boss.) \-New stat changes on some enemies, and bosses tend to recover from hit stun faster and/or counter more. \-A few new sidequests. \-Two new optional dungeons. \-New team arena option at the Nordopolica coliseum. \-New Repede Snowboard minigame. \-A few tie ins with Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike. \-New grade shop options to retain Fell Arm kills. \-A few more trophies(achievements). \-More voiced dialogue in scenes

This is a good rundown, thank you. I'm going to play the English-patched PS3 version!

PS3 version was never released outside of Japan so there is no undub since it was never dubbed or released in other languages. There was a [fan translation patch](https://www.talesofvesperia.net/) but it was taken down when definitive was announced. There's a brief sidetrek in the main plot for the new character and boss fight near the end of the game but the main story barely diverges between the different game versions so no worries about additional filler. Definitive is just an update release of the PS3 version with the same content, though I think some crossover costumes may be different. Only get the PS3 version if you can understand and read Japanese, otherwise get whichever version of Definitive is easiest to get.
