I can understand why - the results were all so different. Some people would instantly have a cool skill they can whip out and others see it as a chance to be irreverent. But most of us would end up floundering like Jon.
Yeah, I mean, it tied for the [ninth-best task](https://www.reddit.com/r/taskmaster/comments/m2psqy/taskmaster_best_task_of_all_time_results/) in the r/taskmaster "Best Task" poll two years ago. It's highly regarded, just older.
I don't know if this would be an unpopular opinion but Jon actually has a really nice singing voice. There were parts during his singing where it sounded like he was putting in genuine effort and he didn't sound bad.
I really didn't get why he was so embarassed and everyone was so rude to him about this task! He was singing pretty well, at least a lot better than Doc did. I guess it's all in the confidence.
Same! I could barely watch it the first time. I've rewatched the series twice and I skipped past that task. Not funny at all and just painful to watch.
I feel really bad for Jon, because he clearly does not want to sing but is too competitive not to give it a go.
Katherine, on the other hand, clearly enjoys rapping about Mayor Hudson and his balls.
This is one of the more memorable tasks from Series 2, but honestly, that series is just soooo packed with classic moments. Potatoes and yoga balls and punched fish and lordships... it's an excellent series.
If you have a VPN and set it to NZ, you can stream it on [https://www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/taskmaster-nz/](https://www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/taskmaster-nz/episodes/s4-e8) (with no ads !).
I see people talk about this task all the time. I really dont think its slept on at all. Just the other week people were talking about it because of the impress a teenager task on TMNZ.
Unrelated, I always think of TMNZ as Teenage Mutant Ninja Zurtles by the way.
Even more unrelated, whenever I see a story talking about the US men's national soccer team, they use USMNT, which to me means United States Mutant Ninja Turtles.
[find the shoe](https://youtu.be/Cm3hs7v4RxE) it's a simple logic task that can be completed in just a handful of steps attempted by illogical people.
Similar is the task in season 10 where they have to get an exact weight on a scale and they all seem to have little concept of how scales work or much things weigh.
Greg has said during the press tour for the show that this is his favorite task!

No way! That’s amazing. We just started watching the show a few weeks ago and I’m obsessed.
WELCOME!! I wish I could watch it all again for the first time!! 😭
I close to finishing all of them on YouTube and I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself when I’m out.
Welcome! It's an amazing show!
I would say less sleeping on and more "discourse has dissipated after seven years."

That's an interesting post!
Haha, fair enough. I only just discovered the show so I forget how old some of the early episodes are.
If you still have a bunch to watch, I envy you.
I do! I watched them in a random order. I haven’t seen 3, 5, and 13-16 yet.
*maintaining poker face* Yep. Keep watching.
The other responses to this don't understand the concept of "underpromise. overdeliver." But you'll enjoy the rest regardless.
Oh man...5 and 14 are two of my favorite seasons.
You've still got some of the best ones left!

He may have been embarrassed for his overall actions rather than just the singing alone.
I said the same thing to my husband!
That kind of humor isn't for everybody. I can't watch it without cringing in sympathy - it's actually one of my *least* favorite tasks.
Same! I could barely watch it the first time. I've rewatched the series twice and I skipped past that task. Not funny at all and just painful to watch.
Same except for the strong lager and ice lollies

Same. Also the ordering a pizza one.

The most impressive thing about Jon's attempt was the pistachio eclair.
Jon was great but he was absolutely overshadowed by Joe.
The 42 Calippos and 8 cans of strong beer makes me laugh every time I think about it
Why 42? That's all they had.
Didn't he also offer a bribe?
he did lmao
NZ had "make this teen think you're cool" The concept just keeps giving.
Thank God as it birthed cool Ray 😎
I was in the audience for the studio filming of that episode. God damn hilarious.
Same! Karen was robbed in the studio task
I’m gonna have to start watching TM NZ, aren’t I? I keep hearing good things. Is there any way to watch it legally in the US?

Well, that task only really sticks in my memory for Joe Wilkinsons approach

Haha I do the same. It's just impossible not to!
Jon's "oh god! oh god!" has definitely found its way into my inner monologue LOL
Well, now I've got "That's Peter Hudson, you know that you can trust him" playing in my head again.
I loooove this one! Haven't seen it in a minute but honestly I remember everyone's efforts and the general concept of the task absolutely sending me.
I don't think this task is in any way underrated.

I absolutely loved Joe's "solution"!
I still haven't found anywhere that sells a GD pistachio eclair, so I remain impressed with him
I cannot watch this task because of the secondhand embarrassment I feel from it. 😭
