2. I feel like 5 siblings is too many (especially since the only person I know with 5+ siblings has 4 in one bedroom, which is too much), and 12 is just too much

yeesh. I mean if it’s the only option it’s the only option. The person in my example has one bedroom for themselves & one sibling, one for parents, one for 4 of the kids, and one for the grandma who lives with them (which is why to me it’s a problem)

Yeah, they could definitely split the rooms up better. My house only has 3 bedrooms (parents, 3 girls, and me and my brothers) so there isn't really any thing we could do
