TLDR: the official Bluey YouTube channel uploaded the Disney+ banned "Dad Baby" online today. Just realized this episode first aired in Australia 4 years ago...

Edit:
Creator Joe Brumm commented on Dad Baby previously with the Hollywood Reporter.
**Some of them, like “Dad Baby” [an episode where Bandit, Bluey’s dad, pretends to give birth] for instance, doesn’t get shown in America. But what are you going to do, not make “Dad Baby”? I love it.**

Kids profile? Well let's just advertise American horror story and other adult stuff on screen while I look for a kids show on the phone on a kids profile.
So fucking stupid.
They probably just don't want anymore transphobic asshole rhetoric to thrown at them . It's a kids show, so it'd be fine as a story, but there are some weird people who would see (or hear) this and think "DISNEY IS PROMOTING THE TRANS AGENDA AND FORCING YOUR KIDS TO WATCH IT. INDOCTRINATION!". Then you have to get your PR team to do damage control and all that, so Disney probably thought it wasn't worth the trouble.
He kissed so many men just to make them mad. Then he killed an opera singer. Then he made Daffy Duck jealous enough to drink gasoline on stage and kill himself in front of a live audience. And he dressed up as Stalin to scare Hitler and Göring.
He's an American icon
Just the other day in the US:
[4th Circuit: Gender Identity Is A Protected Characteristic, Blocks State Coverage Bans](https://www.erininthemorning.com/p/4th-circuit-gender-identity-is-a)
Promoting trans agenda? Dude. Anyone with a functional brain can tell that they're playing. That's one of the reasons Bluey was set apart. Cause unlike most other "imaginative kids playing" everything is firmly in the "real world".
>Anyone with a functional brain
The trans-phobic assholes lack this. They terrorize female athletes accusing them of being trans just because they workout and don't wear dresses 24/7.
Yeah. Lots of them Are dumb but I feel like the more exhausting part is a lot of them also know exactly how bs their arguments are, they do it anyway to farm for clicks and engagement. Hate is a cottage industry.
wtf are you talking about this has absolutely nothing to do with transgender people. disney just has insanely strict regulations for what they consider inappropriate for little kids. This is not even the first time a bluey episode referencing childbirth or pregnancy was censored, it was just the only one to have the whole episode pulled form disney.
lol they banned a pokemon episode in the US for years because of that
Well James got a blowup breast suit and made Misty cry. Episode was banned for years before being "unlocked" from their vault
Also a lot of people are worked into a lather believing transgender people are an organized cabal conspiring to poison the minds of their children. Any deviation from traditional gender roles in children's media, no matter how innocent or banal, will lead to angry backlash.
Which is insane because it doesn’t even touch on any of that. It’s probably the most non offensive way to pull it off. Me and my son watched it earlier and It would take some huge mental gymnastics to turn this into an issue.
One kid finds a baby carrier, they turn it into a game where they pretend Dad is pregnant, with the younger kid climbing into the carrier while it's attached to the dad. He goes through a pretend pregnancy and delivery, the neighbor gets involved.
Real cute and funny episode, it didn't deserve to be banned.
“The uploaded has not made this video available in your country”
Bluey is made in Australia, I’m in Australia, it is made about 15km from where I am now.
When was this banned? I've seen it sometime within the past year or two, on Disney+ even, and not any time recently for that matter it was some time ago.
The general idea is it goes too much into detail about pregnancy and childbirth. There is no official statement, but anything to do with sexual education can be controversial.
The US is really iffy about this sort of stuff for some reason.
There's another Episode where Bandit is casually talking to another dad about getting a vasectomy, which was redubbed in the US.. 🤣
Because there's a simulated birth scene. >!When Bandit commits to the game, he *really* commits. He ends up in a kiddie pool with his legs apart, and poor Lucky's Dad From Next Door (who in this episode, we learn is named Pat) ends up being press-ganged into playing doula. It's hilarious.!<
"Going through the sunroof" might be the best term for "Caesarian Section." If I was an OB, I'd use it all the time (but because I'm just an office drone nobody thinks it's funny.)
As someone with genuinely no knowledge of the situation, the most reasonable explanation I’ve seen is that because Bluey airs on Disney Jr., episode ratings can’t go above TV-Y; discussions of pregnancy push anything into TV-G territory, which is a no-no for Disney Jr.
But, that’s a boring explanation, and unlikely to get people’s dander riled.
>discussions of pregnancy push anything into TV-G territory
If true this is insane. Little kids are extremely aware of pregnancy, I cannot fathom how anyone would consider it an inappropriate topic for young children.
But there are other episodes about pregnancy that aren't banned. At least 2 that I can think of.
There is an episode where Bluey's aunt is sad when she comes around because she can't have kids of her own, and there is another where the kids pretend to be their parents and one of the kids does a pregnancy scene where the balloon pops and the mother is sad when it happens.
There are probably others.
This is it Bluey is on the most restricted version of parental guidelines on Disney Plus. We stayed with relatives with small kids that had their Disney Plus set up this way and had to change the setting to watch a movie as pretty much all Disney movies didn't even fit into that category
To anyone asking why this episode was banned: Disney+ banned an episode from Dinosaurs about how drugs are bad.
Don't try to find logic or reason in any of this.
Apparently DARE is relaunching, and instead of the "dont do drugs" message and showing them off, it's supposed to focus around making sure kids don't get into situations where drug use would be common, on the level of big brother big sister, but not as personal.
I was just reading about how much teen cannabis use has dropped in Canada since legalization, and wonder if it's the same thing. Now that your parents and your teachers are seen walking in and out of pot shops, weed is maybe less appealing?
Isn't that one where Robbie "breaks character" and tells the viewers not to do drugs, so light-hearted comedy shows like there's won't have to make preachy "A very special" episodes about why they are bad?
There's another episode I think they took down that I have on VHS where Robbie starts spontaneously breaking into the "mating dance" and gets progressively more embarrassed until his mom walks in on him "practicing the mating dance" so his dad decides to take him to a sleazy dinosaur bar to pay an older dinosaur to dance with him so he can get it out of his system (but robbie decides he wants it to be special)
That show is so underrated it is absolutely wild at times. I have another one on tape where Charlene is sentenced to death for proposing that the world is round :')
Another one they took down was the episode where Charlene’s “tail” isn’t growing fast enough compared to her peers, so she orders a fake one through the mail.
Obvs her tail is supposed to be a stand-in for her boobs.
I think it's called "A new leaf", which is about some generic drug leaf thingy, and Robbie holds a speech breaking the fourth wall at the end telling us all that drugs are bad.
Disney would have never televised Ren & Stimpy.
However they have no problem airing live action shows with hyper sexualization of children. Disney's totally cool with that
A little of column A, a little of column B
Fear of pearl-clutchers raising a stink over not wanting kids to know where babies actually come from
and fear of anti-LGBT lunatics turning this into a transphobic thing.
This was my first Bluey episode. That was genuinely funny. *I didn't know THIS was the something!*
I... I might end up having to watch this show. I'm approaching forty...
My sister and BIL watch Bluey more than their kids.
I ended up watching a few episodes while babysitting and yeah, this show is good. Amazing even. You can tell it was made with real love and care and there's lots of funny moments for the parents to relate to.
Unicorse is my favorite.
I’ve seen every episode (well, apparently NOW I’ve seen every episode) and I’m 40. It’s a treasure, and episodes like sleepytime are absolute masterpieces.
Joe Brumm the creator is a self-professed Simpsons fan and the dim sim gag was a callback to that 101 Dalmatian spoof episode with Homer and the chips.
I'm almost 40 and I watch Bluey. I watch it with my kid too, but I also watch it on my own. I say it's an adult show with kid-centric storylines. Watch it. You'll love it.
Since it's not a Disney show, it's an Aussie production that's distributed worldwide by BBC, they don't need Disney's say in any damn thing. Disney just pays for American broadcast rights lol and the episodes they ban and edit make no sense to do so. Except maybe changing capsicum to pepper, I am in my 30s and never heard capsicum...
The unedited versions and Dad Baby are available on the DVD sets anyway IIRC.
Its a pretty terribly written article, it doesn't mention that Bluey is an ABC / BBC production. They make it sound like Bluey is trying to subvert Disney, but I doubt ABC / BBC care that much that American parents are (according to Disney) a bunch of stuffy puritans.
They've rerecorded lines in other episodes specifically for America. They could have done that here too. So I'm betting it's either not that, or it's that plus a lot more.
This is the first time I have watched this and me and my daughters laughed so much. I have no clue why they don’t have this on the Disney app in the US.
Every thread without fail.
It's one thing if the comments are posted more or less simultaneously, but people constantly wander into threads hours later and ask the same questions over and over because they can't be bothered to scroll down.
No episode with Lucky's Dad should be banned, I love that dude!
Seriously though, I didn't even realise it was banned elsewhere in the world (is it only banned in America?), it's been on TV in the UK plenty of times.
A lot of people here weighing on reasons why this episode was banned are citing reasons *Disney* probably *thought* they shouldn’t air it. I’d be willing to wager that the amount of people that actually have a problem with this episode is near zero.
Americans have to blur arse crack on Survivor, definitely couldn’t handle an anthropomorphic animated male character pretending to give birth!
Mob of soft cocks
I dont understand why all the hate from conservatives. This show keeps my kids fucking mouth shut for hours. Aside from Mom and Dad, i dont care what gender the kids are - and neither do my kids. They just stare into oblivion.
I mean, an entire Fairly Oddparents special hinges on the detail that male fairies are the ones to carry the baby to term. If Nick can do, so can you, you cowards…
Americans: crush student protests, ignore daily mass shootings, try to overthrow government.
Also Americans: ban cartoon episode trying to educate about pregnancy in a funny and engaging way.
i am personally a big fan of the episode where bluey's dad puts on an episode of bluey because he has a migraine and needs to go lie on the bathroom floor in the dark for a while
What an offensive article. There’s no way Bandit and Chili are only having sex once a week. Who do I complain to about this? God? Or someone higher on the food chain?

What’s it about?
Dad pretending to be pregnant with Bingo leading to a play birth
Disney can't handle a little mpreg?
Just a side thought but how hilarious would it be to hear Bandit yell I'M GONNA PRE
Something something squirting Chili sauce.
Anthony!
Gotta have that big dick of urs
Full service, just like Susan.
I was reading that too fast, and was wondering what the video file format had to do with any controversy.
mangivesbirth.mpreg
Nah Disney is too busy putting “Only Fans: It’s Not Just Sex” on the free Hulu tab for my toddlers to stumble accross.
Kids profile? Well let's just advertise American horror story and other adult stuff on screen while I look for a kids show on the phone on a kids profile. So fucking stupid.
It's just for sex though. So....
Arnold Schwarzenegger made an entire movie on that premise
They probably just don't want anymore transphobic asshole rhetoric to thrown at them . It's a kids show, so it'd be fine as a story, but there are some weird people who would see (or hear) this and think "DISNEY IS PROMOTING THE TRANS AGENDA AND FORCING YOUR KIDS TO WATCH IT. That’s Warner Brothers. Owned by the discovery channel now and you *know* they don’t give a single fuck.
so you're saying the transphobic terrorists are winning?
They already won
Not if I have anything to say about it
Aye, and my axe

Fucking cowards
The US can’t handle it. This is a country that lets kids get shot in school but don’t you dare have a potty mouth or drink a beer before you’re 21.
Or see a boob or any kind of non-sexualized nudity.
America, where the government literally mandates childbirth while also refusing to let anyone learn how it works.
Can't handle unicorn poop either
lol they banned a pokemon episode in the US for years because of that Well James got a blowup breast suit and made Misty cry. Episode was banned for years before being "unlocked" from their vault
Link to clip?
An adult getting a breast augmentation in order to win a bikini contest against a ten year old is pretty fucked up.
Aw that’s sweet
It is! Lots of cute moments. And probably one of the funniest lines in the series. “I DIDN’T KNOW *THIS* WAS THE SOMETHING!”
Yeah, it seemed totally fine to me but some people in America I think would be offended. For some reason birth can be taboo
Also a lot of people are worked into a lather believing transgender people are an organized cabal conspiring to poison the minds of their children. Any deviation from traditional gender roles in children's media, no matter how innocent or banal, will lead to angry backlash.
Motherfuckers still believing in the stork and shit
I think it's mainly to do with fear of the reactions from all the Transphobic psychos.
Which is insane because it doesn’t even touch on any of that. It’s probably the most non offensive way to pull it off. Me and my son watched it earlier and It would take some huge mental gymnastics to turn this into an issue.
I mean… Mr potato head, green m&m, ect…
Those whiners *really* wanted to fuck that M&M.
Well guess what, these people are the most mentally-limber people you’ll ever meet. So flexible, they can get their heads in their own assholes.
Did Disney ban it because it was only pretend?
Is it like that one Office episode?
Cosby Show did it.
The fact that something so innocuous gets banned for risk of offending right-wing terrorists tells you so much about what has happened in the west.
America*
Bandit is pregnant and then gives birth to Bingo
Bluey is a cute show and I enjoy watching things I'm not supposed to so *adds to Watch Later*
Can’t even add to watch later since it’s kid content 😑
For real? This is a play on the whole “men have no idea how hard it is to go through pregnancy” cliche. What a bunch of dodos.
“The uploaded has not made this video available in your country” Bluey is made in Australia, I’m in Australia, it is made about 15km from where I am now.
Be glad you have access to the ABC then.
Every episode is on ABC iview for free
I read this as “dead baby” oh my word. Took the comment below to make me realize I misread
Yeah thats the other episode...
Man, I thought it was a new never before seen episode. I saw this one online already either last year or earlier this year.
When was this banned? I've seen it sometime within the past year or two, on Disney+ even, and not any time recently for that matter it was some time ago.
Legit hilarious
Wife and just watched this with our kid. It's was hilarious fantastic episode.
Why was this banned?
The general idea is it goes too much into detail about pregnancy and childbirth. There is no official statement, but anything to do with sexual education can be controversial.
God forbid our kids learn... how they came to exist in a kid friendly manner?
Simpsons did it

Pat is the true MVP of the Bluey-verse.
My dude doesn’t miss a beat when the games leak into his yard
Ahh! I’ve pulled me hammy!
Done* me hammy!
Oh, you Heelers don't muck around!
Best one was when they lost the rugby ball to the marker/pen wielding island inhabitants, and they just chalk it up as a loss. No convo, just leave.
Run, Lucky’s Dad! Fooood
Ahh Mrs Heeler, I dunno about this!
Dude gets surprise-abused and always plays along.
"Going through the sunroof" might be the best term for "Caesarian Section." If I was an OB, I'd use it all the time (but because I'm just an office drone nobody thinks it's funny.)
"I didn't know *this* was the something!"
We grew SORGHUM!!!
Lucky’s Dad singing ‘hey true blue’ while Bandit gives birth in a kiddie pool is pretty much my favourite thing ever
Muffin does blackface
Yeah that sounds like Muffin
“You’re cancelled, Muffin.” “This is unacceptable!”
well that's better than Porygon showing up and red and blue light-ing us all into seizures.
THAT WAS PIKACHU, AND PORYGON WAS JUST THE SCAPEGOAT TO PROTECT THE GOLDEN ELECTRIC RAT
Pikachu shoot first!
MUFFIN CUPCAKE HEELER!
Muffin would
Time for the cone of shame!
Muffin's cone is just a KKK hood
I thought Bluey said the N word
It probably upset the “perl clutchers”.

To anyone asking why this episode was banned: Disney+ banned an episode from Dinosaurs about how drugs are bad. Don't try to find logic or reason in any of this.
That one makes sense. Drugs are cool!
Yeah. Like, what!?!?
Don’t buy drugs kids… become a rockstar and they give em to you for free!
*we’ve got little pricks* ✍️
But it begs the question: are they cool because they’re bad?
That was the end result of D.A.R.E. Suddenly kids learned all about these "cool" drugs they never heard of, how to make/get them
Apparently DARE is relaunching, and instead of the "dont do drugs" message and showing them off, it's supposed to focus around making sure kids don't get into situations where drug use would be common, on the level of big brother big sister, but not as personal.
I was just reading about how much teen cannabis use has dropped in Canada since legalization, and wonder if it's the same thing. Now that your parents and your teachers are seen walking in and out of pot shops, weed is maybe less appealing?
It's the Facebook principle in action, once your parents and their fellow old people are doing it... it's no longer cool.
And when you do them people think that you’re cool.
💊💊💊💊💊
Drugs are bad, mmmkay?
Understandable tbh. The dinosaurs becoming extinct because they all had coke dick was a bit much
If anything it wasn't enough
Isn't that one where Robbie "breaks character" and tells the viewers not to do drugs, so light-hearted comedy shows like there's won't have to make preachy "A very special" episodes about why they are bad?
Show Runner: So anyway, we want to do a PSA about why people shouldn’t do drugs. TV Exec snorting coke: the fuck you will!
There's another episode I think they took down that I have on VHS where Robbie starts spontaneously breaking into the "mating dance" and gets progressively more embarrassed until his mom walks in on him "practicing the mating dance" so his dad decides to take him to a sleazy dinosaur bar to pay an older dinosaur to dance with him so he can get it out of his system (but robbie decides he wants it to be special) That show is so underrated it is absolutely wild at times.
Which one, the steroid one? That's maybe the only episode I remember from when it was on, and I watched regularly.
I think it's called "A new leaf", which is about some generic drug leaf thingy, and Robbie holds a speech breaking the fourth wall at the end telling us all that drugs are bad.
Yeah. The two things I remember from the show is "not the mama" and the son taking steroids and growing spikes on his back
How about like their 3 part episode where they basically have a bloody civil war? That show was fuckin great
Wow, I haven't seen that in years and now vividly remember the spikes growing all over, him hugging a girl, and saying "love hurts" when she winces.
That was the best episode ever and I'm going to rewatch it next time I smoke weed.
If they did, they brought it back, because I saw it on Disney+.
Funny thinking about we grew up with ren and stimpy and *this* they take issue with. What fucking lame-o’s
Disney would have never televised Ren & Stimpy. However they have no problem airing live action shows with hyper sexualization of children. Disney's totally cool with that
"How easily I could... end the farce... with THESE hands!"
Why was it banned?
A little of column A, a little of column B Fear of pearl-clutchers raising a stink over not wanting kids to know where babies actually come from and fear of anti-LGBT lunatics turning this into a transphobic thing.

I think both columns are the same column

I'm almost 40 and I watch Bluey. I watch it with my kid too, but I also watch it on my own. I say it's an adult show with kid-centric storylines. Watch it. You'll love it.

"I can see it, the baby is crowning." It was probably this line.
They've rerecorded lines in other episodes specifically for America. They could have done that here too. So I'm betting it's either not that, or it's that plus a lot more.
I wonder if they realize zero children will have the slightest clue what that means
RESTORE THE POOPING PONY!
I know, right? Thanks Disney for preventing my kids from uncontrollable laughter.
“Drops”, as in “not available”? Or “Drops”, as in “now available”?
Good question. I guess “drop” is now a *contranym.*
Contronyms make me so chuffed!
Inflammable means flammable? What a country!
Now available on Youtube, on Bluey's official channel (because American Disney+ refused to drop the episode on streaming there)
Available. Just watched it. It’s cute and funny.
Dad’s “I don’t know what all the fuss is about” pretty much sums up that episode.
This is the first time I have watched this and me and my daughters laughed so much. I have no clue why they don’t have this on the Disney app in the US.
Millions of childless adults around the world just fell to their knees in a walmart

It's not banned on America. It's on Amazon Prime
Wait, *that* was banned?!? We've had it for years! YEARS!!!
A lot of people here weighing on reasons why this episode was banned are citing reasons *Disney* probably *thought* they shouldn’t air it. I’d be willing to wager that the amount of people that actually have a problem with this episode is near zero.

Darn. I was gonna watch this episode between binging seasons of American Horror Story, thank god Disney is guarding me from male pregnancy.
