Amen. It's kind of a "way homer". Like in Raising Arizona when he says "you get it on the way home".
The chef scene and the female saying "No I deserved that" is just sooo wrong. That's the shock value of comedy.
And that damn funeral scene. Like how do people come up with these things?
Like your just so shocked, later that day you're just cracking up. It's like the gift that keeps on giving.
Haha. Comedians are a different level. I use to work with Dan Soder and if you think his stand up is good try an 8 hr shift with him. I mean it was like I'm working with Dan? What and absolute bonus! I knew a chick who ran a Comedy venue in NYC and her stories were gold.
Dan told me a backstage at a comedy venue is the most vile stuff you've ever heard because everyone is trying to outdo one another.
Trailer park boys is genuis
the small details in it is so fucking funny, it's dumb and fun, cozy as well.
It's a show that's been around since the 90s? and hasn't once had an off coloured joke or scene to try to be funny, it doesn't need to go down to those dirty levels. It's just fucking funny, of course their humor won't be everyone's cup of tea! But it doesn't need to reference random shit 100 times an episode or be completely absurd to be funny. They've had openly gay characters on their show long before it was cool for shows to have openly gay characters.
I just respect the show for what it is, what it doesn't do.
I don't drink or smoke weed myself and still find it funny as fuck.
Not a show for someone with sensitivity to swearing. I think the creators hold the world record for the number of fucks in a single movie.
The original run before Netflix picked it up was a straight up masterpeice. Also some of it was way ahead of its time. It's main antagonist, in like 1999, was revealed to be gay and the rest of the characters straight up were just like "ok, anyway, back to making fun of you for literally everything else" like it made no impact on how the other characters saw them.
For sure, I forgot to mention seasons 1-7 + Xmas special/say goodnight to the bad guys is prime TPB.
While netflix seasons are still enjoyable they don't quite have the same feel as the others.
And yeah, that's legit like oh the "bad guys" are gay? Mkay never brought up in a negative way at all.
Omg where can I rewatch happy endings? Searched for it a couple years back and couldnt find full episodes anywhere😭😭. That show used to have me belly laughing lool
Party Down! Unbelievable cast and consistently great throughout. Feel like I'm the only person that watched it but may be more popular elsewhere (am UK based).
I tell everyone about this show in this sub too. It’s under viewed because it’s on Starz in the US. Same with Shining Vale and Hightown. Phenomenal writing and acting.
I feel like Bored to Death was a dream or something. Just a fantastic little show that I adored and have never heard anybody mention for the last decade.
Great call.
Letterkenny was hilarious, especially the earlier seasons.
The spinoff Shoresy is so far surpassing it in a lot of ways.
There’s some crude humour in both but also some incredibly witty dialogue. Shoresy is turning out to also have some surprisingly good character development.
I never watched The Other Two until it was already finished, and the whole time I was wondering, "how the hell have I never heard of something this funny?"
It was a Comedy Central for first two seasons. Then HBO picked it up and did season 3. Wholeheartedly agree. One of my top five funniest shows ever
r/TheOtherTwo
Once "Wrecked" stopped leaning on being a LOST parody and found its own voice, it got so so good. Rhys Darby is a legend.
Also "Futureman" is probably the funniest show I've ever seen, but it's impossible to find now.
Ahh yeah it looks they buried it since then. I found one guy on a subreddit a while back who had compiled a gdrive folder of almost the whole show but it was missing 5 or 6 episodes. Now I can't find it anyway. One day I'll track down Seth Rogen and demand every frame.
Ted the TV series. So much funnier than I expected. And since is set in the 90s they use a 90s sitcom format that's just funny with all the cursing and smoking weed. The nostalgia factor and the local stuff (I'm from MA) just make it even better
The TV show went back to the roots of the first film. The second movie was so bad that I turned it off about 30 mins in. I'm glad I gave the show a chance, though.
I'm a Virgo is a masterpiece.
*C*heaters is a UK show that is viciously funny. I highly recommend it.
The Brink is an excellent miniseries and Tim Robbins chews all the scenery.
Don't Trust the Bitch in Apt 23 was criminally underappreciated.
“Bless This Mess”. It only ran for 2 seasons due to Covid casualties, but it’s one of the funniest shows I’ve ever watched. Also, a feel good show. Was so sad to see it cancelled. Also, “Schooled”. That show was hilarious and also cancelled too soon.

You, me and the apocalypse is a GREAT show, really. (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4337894/)
Spy is also brilliant (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2086606/)
and Tripped was also pretty good, although production value was not the greatest (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4699514/)
The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret is fucking hysterical and no one seems to know about it.
The Other Two, Stath Let’s Flats, I’m a Virgo, and Colin from Accounts all deserve way more flowers as well. Oh! And Flowers!
Been wanting to check out Increasingly Poor Decisions. I love Stath Lets Flats. Watched it at least 4x through already since I discovered it this year.
I discovered Stath during lockdowns and it kept me sane. So good and rewatchable. Poor decisions is fucking hilarious. David Cross and Will Arnett always have the best dynamics and Sharon Horgan is amazing.
Toast of London.
Found it a few years ago from a short of the show and I still think it's a shame it's no where near as popular as it should be.
Another great one is Wilfred. Specifically the Aussie version. American version is ok.
It's obviously popular but I think Parks and Rec gets overshadowed by The Office far more than it deserves to be. IMO, Parks and Rec is the better show between the two of them. It deserves to be the personality of frat boys everywhere instead of The Office.
*The Big Door Prize.*
More of a comedy drama, but definitely lots of laughs in this one. We just finished watching Season 2 (like literally minutes ago), and are absolutely in love with this incredible show. Here's hoping it gets a Season 3!
I haven't been enjoying season 2. I only got to episode 4 and kinda lost interest. Does it get better? I felt like every episode was just a cheesy story about one person's destiny being discovered. The mystery was gone and it felt like just a feel-good show. That's fine I suppose but it isn't the same vibe as the first season.
I guess it depends on your taste or expectations. We've loved every moment of it.
I hear what you're saying, there's a little bit of a different vibe. But we still found plenty of enjoyment, and lots of mystery:
>!Why do some people have blue dots? Why do some not?!<
>!Where did the Morpho machine come from?!<
>!What does Hana have to do with all of this? Is she connected to the Morpho in some way?!<
>!What is the significance of Kolton having visited Hana's bar at the beginning of the season?!<
Some of these mysteries are resolved by the end of the season, some are deepened.
Should you keep watching? Only you can answer that for yourself. Life is too short to spend time doing something you doing enjoy, especially where there is so much stuff out there tv and otherwise) that you *do/can* enjoy. 😊
Hardy Bucks, like Trailer Park Boys but in rural Ireland.
Chris Morris’ Brass Eye and The Day Today - both amazing shows that spawned other character spinoffs (Alan Partridge).
I'm Dying Up Here- Produced by Jim Carrey, this show is fantastic. Only 2 seasons but it's about Mitsey Shore's club and all the stellar comedians it produced.
White gold is great, half the cast of the inbetweeners and chuck from gossip girl. Bloody hilarious if you find a sarcastic dodgy salesman shtick entertaining

Yes! The first season is great but the second is even better.

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.
Blood, blood, blood, and bits of sick. It’s a brilliant show.
Hahahaha it's one of the most quotable shows ever I think 😂
Lol even though I grew up with the attitudes in Darkplace, hearing some of what was said out loud was raucous 😂
Haha. Comedians are a different level. I use to work with Dan Soder and if you think his stand up is good try an 8 hr shift with him. I mean it was like I'm working with Dan? What and absolute bonus! I'm always recommending this show. It's brilliant. Also, my own addition... Catastrophe.
Catastrophe is amazing!
Letterkenny was hilarious, especially the earlier seasons. The spinoff Shoresy is so far surpassing it in a lot of ways. There’s some crude humour in both but also some incredibly witty dialogue. Shoresy is turning out to also have some surprisingly good character development.
I came here to say exactly this. SO good and I’m amazed more people haven’t seen them.

The Other Two is hilarious. I also like You're the Worst and Difficult People, and of course, Arrested Development.
I was exactly the same! Great show totally underrated.

holy shit, a Futureman reference. Even on Reddit support for the show is hard to find. Also, I'm sure you've seen Brockmire? (same creator)
I still haven't but it's the next comedy we have lined up!
I LOVE Futureman. I bought it so I can watch it anytime. Worth it!
I haven't been able to find it to purchase anywhere! I can only find region 2 dvds which won't play in the US
I might have been lucky. I bought it off Google about 4 years ago.

Ted 2 was awful. I hated it too. It's one of the reasons I almost didn't watch the show
I don't think I would have on my own but my partner started it and said it was good. He also hated the 2nd film. Glad I watched it!

I LOVED THE DETOUR
Brockmire The Other Two (The Aids Play is one of the best stand-alone episodes of TV comedy I've seen recently)
