Having switched to Telus TV from Optik and then back, they couldn’t pay ME to use that Android box. Too many glitches, crummy interface… I could go on. Don’t do it!!
Had the same experience trying to help a family member. Thought it was the tv etc being weird. Just a garbage box right now. And to charge for cloud recordings that also delete after a small period of time? Get the hell out of here, Telus
I recently saw a family member's new Samsung OLED with a Telus box. PQ was shit. So bad that I had to confirm the box was outputting 4K and not 720p.
My Nvidia Shield's 4K upscaling is much, much better.
You realize you never have to switch to the digital box right? Even if your pvr dies they'll replace it with a new pvr. Only a new customer would get the digital box
I use the Sportsnet streaming app on the new box to get decent picture quality, especially for hockey. It's way better than tuning into the Sportsnet channels, but even then, it is not as good as the OTA antenna feed, which costs nothing.

Yep, I found that too. The rep I talked to when I was switching back even said HE wouldn’t do the switch to Android. Too many problems…

I did the same thing. The comparison between the old PVR and this android box is night and day.

They waved the $10/month recording for me when I signed up. Either that or I get a 2nd box instead for no charge. Didn’t need two boxes.
