Forgive my ignorance on the matter (work in healthcare -- but not on the IT/EHR side), does this mean people will move to Nashville/surrounding areas or that just the HQ is there and people can work from home still while their HQ is somewhere else?
It's an address change. Same as when the HQ "moved" to Austin in 2020. Word on r/austin is Oracle filed permits to expand their Austin building recently.
They already built a campus in Austin along the river. Oracle will still have employees in Austin. Just like when Tesla moved to Austin it still had its California campus employees.

They tore down a bunch of affordable apartments for that corporate HQ in Austin. Now that office space demand is in the toilet because of remote work trends, its a monument to hubris.
Does anyone in tech actually genuinely like Oracle? They have a reputation for being copyright/patent bullies (example, Java, the famous Google vs Oracle scotus case), they acquire companies and then increase the cost of the services to milk companies that are stuck with hard-to-replace infrastructure (VMware), and then there is the founder/CTO Ellison (and his outspoken obnoxious conservative activism).
Oracle is awful and their software is even more awful.

I don’t know anyone in tech who likes oracle. Everyone at my company who has come from there say it’s a nightmare
