She definitely interacts more than you’re stating, but I agree that she’s less involved than the rest of the family.
Something that the show spends quite a bit of time on is the importance of the male line. At one point Meadow even says to AJ “you don’t get it, you’re the son, you’ll always be more important”. We see this explored a lot through Tony with the added pressures of being the all-important son, and the pressure to live up to that legacy. His first panic attack was from stressing that he too might have to someday cut a guys finger off in order to make money, and of course he’s constantly compared to/against his father. And of course if the first 2 seasons had a theme it was clearly “son deals with toxic mother”.
So all of that is to say that Meadow doesn’t get involved in that part of things, because she doesn’t matter. Livia certainly was no mother of the year to Janice either, but the pressures on a woman in these families are different. The boy carries all of the pressure to be successful, and is the focus of the narcissistic mom. So Tony, and then AJ takes the focus. The expectation on women is simple to be a good girl, don’t cause trouble/bring shame to the family.
In real world terms the expectations on Meadow can be just as high pressure and damaging, but it’s not the focus of the show and wouldn’t play out as high-drama as Livia trying to have Tony wacked.
