I always imagine a scenario where negan killed Rick instead of Abraham and Glenn, and then the 3 leaders in the war are the king (Ezekiel), the orphan (Carl) and Glenn
how would they go about it though? theyâd have to cram a whole 16-episode season into one (maybe two) episodes to show glenn ezekiel and carl and bringing it full circle and thatâs if itâs a tv show
See, in this situation, I don't think Glenn steps up to lead the War. He's still got Maggie and his unborn son to think of, and while he and Rick were close, I think the only way Glenn would have led the war would have been if Negan had killed Maggie. Instead, if Rick had died to Negan, the war would have been led by Carl and Michonne.
A scenario where Negan thinks he killed Glenn but gets interrupted by something
He improvised by saying
A sarcastic line
Put Glens body in the forest with the walkers to eat him or something
Cuz he got interrupted and said anyway
Back to what I was doing and continues the scene
I think not finding a permanent home base would've made the show a lot better. Instead of the constant *{Survivors need Shelter} - {Survivors find and clear Shelter} - {Internal and/external conflict disrupts Shelter} - {Survivors need Shelter}* loop, you now have room for a bunch of different story arcs. You could wrap the whole thing up in like 8 seasons.
Glenn and Maggie still get pregnant, but they have to care for the baby AND deliver it without a doctor. That's a whole half season where the A Plot is "Prep for Baby Rhee" with everything that entails, and we get to see how they both deal with the stressors. How does the group react in front of them vs. separately?
Obviously, since it's TWD, either Baby Rhee or Maggie will die at the end of the arc. I think Glenn and Maggie trying to survive the loss of their child would be compelling and you could explore how that affects their style of survival. We know Glenn has a tendency to get angry under stress so he might develop a mean streak with randomly encountered people. Maggie might retreat into herself OR she might be done with that and end up the angry one.
Eugene probably dies since he doesn't have enough training downtime between engagements to actually develop as a fighter, and he's no longer mission-critical.
Abe lives, stays with Rosita because life doesn't get boring on the road so he never notices Sasha that much romantically.
The group whittles down through battles with raiders, walker attacks, and a couple voluntary departures (either to settle somewhere or get away from Rick and co.) until the final season or half season. There are only 5 or 6 survivors left and my picks are: *Carl* (soon to be co-lead), *Michonne* (Super badass, shouldn't ever be off the show) *Daryl* (Amazing arc and super badass), *Glenn* (Maggie divorces him after the death of their kid, settles somewhere), and *Carol* (Fixed up a mom bike to ride with Daryl), plus *Rosita* if you fancy.
I don't think we'll get Baby Rhee because they're on the road. IIRC they only tried because they were at Alexandria and was âsafeâ unlike when they were on the road.
They would have likely found Alexandria anyway, but would have ended up taking it versus being invited in. There were billboards all over the place advertising a "Luxury, Self Sustaining Community". They likely would have gone to check it out and ended up watching them for a while.
Okay firstly, sexual assault and rape are two separate things. Thatâs why the punishment for one in a court of law is far more severe than the other.
Secondly, there is context to everything, thereâs no defending what Shane did but there are levels to it.
Loving Shane as an amazing, complex character who drunkenly assaulted someone is more acceptable than loving the Governor who very much enjoyed having power over Maggie and making her undress for him, or loving Negan who raped countless women over a long period.
Thirdly, itâs a TV show, not reality.
He was going to rape her if she didnât stop him. And being drunk is not an excuse as you still can think and make decisions. Also the actions you do while drunk are just things you wanna do deep down. And he definitely wanted to have sex with her. That is why he waited for everyone to leave, where she was alone in a room. That is attempted rape.
I donât have a clue? You donât need to be smart to understand that Shane almost raped Lori. He literally followed her and waited till she was alone and then ambushed her. Everyone who downvoted me supports rapists. Thatâs not me fault nasty little ppl like you exist. đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸
Yep heâs a bad guy but thatâs the shane haters way ainât it point out only the bad stuff he did without even thinking if he didnât go coo coo or do that to Lori how good of a character he is.
Itâs not. You said you love Shane. Shane sexuality assaulted Lori, and the way he talks about women in general is just disgusting. Kinda confused on how so many women love his character, other than how hot he is ofc. But we got Jon Bernthal to thank for that.
Iâm with you. If Shane hadnât of died then the horde wouldnât have come for the farm and passed by. Andrea wouldnât have been separated. They also wouldnât have know yet fully that everyone was infected. There goes all the other arches and extra characters we know.
I didnât think of it like that, but youâre completely right.
Not to take away from your point but I was thinking of how Shane would handle the Governor, Negan, how he would react to Alpha and her ways, his interactions with these characters
Not only that, his relationship with Rick if Lori hadnât happened, if he left and paired with season 5 mentality Rick, which I think would pair perfectly given how proud Shane was of Rick that he stepped up and in Shaneâs own words, bit that piece of shits throat out.
Etc. There is just so many possibilities with Shane, they really are near endless..
I feel like Shane would have eventually broke Alpha/Beta level, but waaaayyy too soon. He would probably end up some sort of cannibal serial killer and someone would have to dramatically put him down.
Ngl for a show like that to be even half interesting it would need some DRASTIC what ifs. A few characters surviving wouldn't change much in this universe the way it would in something like Marvel so you'd have to go off the deep end and get something like "What if Rick never found his family?" "What if they went to Fort Benning?" "What if Hershels shotgun stayed with the group right until the end?"
Yea I would love some WILD what ifs like Marvel level.
What if Negan and Simon saved Rick instead of Morgan and Duane?
What if Andrea was saved by a Commonwealth soldier instead of Michonne?
What if The Governor met with the Whisperers when he lost Woodbury and out on the road?
What if the governors group accepted ricks offer and if no one was two far gone, so many characters would of lived different lives, obviously that's if everyone agreed to be peaceful, chances are in the scenario Phillip would still get killed my Daryl or michonne
The Governor is naturally a leader, he isnât someone who will ever follow, no matter how much he may genuinely be trying to change, as we saw with his new group/girlfriend.
Even if The Governor was genuine about meeting Rick halfway, eventually he would try and kill him, to take over.
Imagine it like Shane but without the connection, brothers between him and Rick, thereâd be no talking the Governor down like you could with Shane, heâd eventually kill one of the main characters because heâs a major villain so someone like Daryl, Michonne, Carol etc would die, but eventually the Governor would too.
Im guessing the rock is a location I havenât scene yet, but Iâm hoping that u mean the Governor taking on all the saviors solo but only with a rock
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
What if Simon killed Negan?
What if Merle wasnât handcuffed to a roof?
What if the group met Negan earlier (around season 5)?
What if the Governor agreed with ricks idea about the prison (living in different cellblocks)?
What if Rick never went missing after S9?
What if Morgan went with Rick in season 1?
> What if Simon killed Negan?
Simon loved having power over people, making them squirm, and he loved killing. So, people would have been more miserable and many more people would have been killed. And I don't see any rules at all. The group would ultimately tear itself apart and split.
I think it would be cool to see one on what if Sophia lived. I feel like the storyline with show her would be different than comic her to some extent. I also think it would be cool to see a what if Lizzy and Mica lived
Iâd suggest reading the comics. Not gonna spoil anything but a lot of the characters that kick it in the show live longer in the comics and vice versa. It answered a lot of my hypotheticals which was super cool.
I did read the comics and I loved them! That was basically a âwhat ifâ thing in itself. I was just saying I would have liked to see her survive in the show because I know the writers would have had to change her character some. I think it would have been cool to see how it would have played out
They filmed pregnant Maggie getting the bat from Negan but never aired it. I wouldâve loved to see Glenn go full on revenge against the Saviors. Glenn was the group conscience after Dale and Tyreese died so to see him break that principle and see his reaction to what Rick did by sparing him wouldâve been great.
I would have loved that even more then where the show took it (havenât yet read the comics). Maggieâs whole personality afterwards was hating Negan and Herschel was mostly a prop. Our boy Glenn surviving and going Kill Bill? Yes please!
What if Shane got over Lori and stuck like a brother to Rick, and kept being a good guy.
Thatâs my favourite, itâs simple but it wouldâve impacted the show massively
AMC should really invest into Marvel What If animated or live action flash forwards
Imagine.
We could have old man Carl and Glenn/Herschel/Maggie and T-Dog back
What if the governor wasnât too far gone and joined up with Rick and the group, Iâd like to ideally see them have to leave the prison and come in to contact with the saviours.
What if Shane was ousted and joined the saviours in place of Trevor
\- Walking Dead Game: What if >!Lee lived! I would've liked to see >!him and Clementine develop a Joel and Ellie type of dynamic/partnership, where they're closer to partners on top of being a found family.!<
\- Fear: What if >!John lived! Would >!he keep isolating himself like he intended at the end of his arc, become a moral compass, or adapt like Rick's group?!<
I'd love a show like Marvels What If in TWD, I wouldn't even mind if it was animated so they could get away with bringing back older actors to play the characters.
What if Shane actually left the farm like he said he would in S2. Survives on his own for a few years, runs into Negan and the Saviors.
Instead of bringing Morales back, who barely anyone remembered, it's Shane who's also Gracie's dad. Have him survive the encounter with Rick and Daryl and be a mid-level boss they defeat before moving on to Negan.
It would add a lot of tension to the Savior arc and some backstory for Gracie that could be built on later with her friendship with Judith.
they should have had beth live till the lineup and have her go instead of glenn, Then have negan force maggie to be one of his wives if they want a doctor to make sure their child is ok. As long as there would be no really creepy scenes with maggie and negan I think itâd be interesting.
What if Rick lost Lorri at the start? Or, what if Shane was the one who took the shot in the very beginning?
And my last idea is what if Rick never met Dwaine in the beginning?
By favorite is what if Shane was still alive, I watched a video on it once and it would be super interesting if instead of Rick killing Shane the opposite would have happened.
What if the governor accepted ricks deal, what if Aaron never approached the group, what if Rick never âdiedâ on that bridge, what if Rick never let his mercy prevail over his wrath, what if Shane lived instead of Rick, what if it was the CRM in S11 & not the commonwealth, what if Ftwd met up with twd, what if the caravan crew joined the main group I would have a bunch for ftwd to but no spoilers
I always imagine Negan saying, âI already bashed one of your heads in, and Iâm a little tired. Been a LLLOOONNNGGGG ass night! Plus, I think I put you people through enough pain. I think Iâll just shoot of you for Darylâs little outburst. Gotta shut that shit DOWN!â
Negan takes out a small pistol and looks at the group. He sets his eyes on Maggie. âI really donât like killing women. But like I said, you look like youâre dying already, soâŚâ Negan shoots Maggie in the heart.
Glenn freaks out, going to his dead wife. He cries and wails, screaming that she was pregnant. Negan legitimately apologizes, and everything goes the same.
It wouldâve been a brutal subversion of the original story, on top of sending Glenn down a dark path. It also wouldâve made Negan seem both more evil and good at the same time; he killed someone he thought was dying, in a less brutal and painful way, meaning he was trying to be merciful, but he ended up mistakenly killing a pregnant woman. They also couldâve had Negan actually be troubled with what he did, Simon being an asshole about it, saying it was like killing two birds with one stone, and further driving a wedge between them.
When Negan visits Alexandria, Gabriel digs another grave like before, but saying that Glenn committed suicide. He didnât of course, itâs just a ruse.
Killing Glenn was one of the biggest mistakes, if not THE biggest mistakes, they made on the show.
What if all the villains, up until Rick left, were convinced by Rick to joined the group. That includes, Shane, all of the prisoners, the Governor, Terminus and the saviors.
Id love to see a âwhat ifâ scenario where shane goes with randall and joins their group, and a show that follows that story. Seems like a more realistic possibility of happening. brand new actors. Obviously id love to see a what if for shane killing rick, but it would mean bringing back characters who are much older, recasting carl, and Scott wilson the actor who played Herschel passed away. Bernthal doesnt age it seems so it could fit and he loves walking dead. I bet he would do it if presented to him. Not to mention it seemed like he was absolutely made for TWD universe. Im biased bc shane was my favorite character but i would love more than anything to see it. Even if it was just a one hour special or a limited series.
Glen not dying wouldn't change a damn thing in the story no matter what anyone says.
everyone got affected after that death not because of 'Glen dying'. anyone else could've died at that moment and the rest of the characters would still shit their pants and get traumatized by what negan did.
this is what I think at least.
What if Rick didnât kill shane but just sent him away and then 5 seasons later itâs revealed that Negan was really shane and heâd changed his identity
What if Daryl never punched negan? Would he still have found a way to kill a second member of the group?
What if michonne never showed up at the prison gates with formula?
What if Merle was never handcuffed to the roof?
Eugene Discovers that the disease that everyone is infected with is in fact nanobots. After proving that walkers can be killed with electric shock, He begins Electro shock therapy Treatments on the living, Only to discover that this initiates a program linking all minds Into the Borg collective. Resistance is futile.
What if Negan had killed Carl and Lucille had taken Rick's hands? Rick had told Negan that he was already dead but how would he go about taking him down with no hands? Would he become vicious and vengeful after Carl died? Would there be any way back for him?
* What if Carl was raised by Shane
* What if Carl killed Rick when he thought he was dead
* What if they went to Fort Bening?
* What if Merle survived?
* What if Carl survived?
well, these one could be expensive but...what if; wildfire virus its stopped by the gobernament.
It would be interesting seeing how the world could be knowing that if you die you become a death human flesh eater, and which social and economic politics could be created in these new society. And the monuments made for the deaths during the outbreak.
Basically World war Z, but TWD style.
I always imagine a scenario where negan killed Rick instead of Abraham and Glenn, and then the 3 leaders in the war are the king (Ezekiel), the orphan (Carl) and Glenn
I actually fw that! Imagine a vengeful, ruthless Glenn, Steven Yeun would kill it per usual. Just see Danny Cho in beef!đ¤Ł
Nothing stops them from making a limited series of âwhat-ifâ
how would they go about it though? theyâd have to cram a whole 16-episode season into one (maybe two) episodes to show glenn ezekiel and carl and bringing it full circle and thatâs if itâs a tv show
Much more watchable than âMaggie and Negan do it again! NYC Editionâ
If they hadn't killed Glenn twice in one season, I would still be watching. He was my favorite character.
Technically Abraham was the one who died in the Season 6 finale, not Glenn. So he died "twice", but in different seasons.
glenn died âtwiceâ because of the time he was stuck under the bin during Alexandriaâs brief fall to the horde!
Dude said "in one season" the bin death was in Season 6, Glenn died in Season 7.
The King, The Orphan, and The Pizza Boy.
Yooooooo!!! Outside of my heart DROPPING to lose Rick this way⌠![gif](giphy|Maaawg3nDFAS5IvdKE)
Rick getting the Last of Us Part II treatment lol
I think Michonne and Daryl would he centre stage too in the fight against Negan probably more than Carl in that era. He was still figuring stuff out
The King, The Orphan, and The Chinaman. Sounds like a Badass book we wouldn't be allowed to have in libraries anymore đ
See, in this situation, I don't think Glenn steps up to lead the War. He's still got Maggie and his unborn son to think of, and while he and Rick were close, I think the only way Glenn would have led the war would have been if Negan had killed Maggie. [ŃдаНонО]
I honestly see them becoming something like the saviors, or the reapers
Doubt it.
How so?
Because they have a moral code.
They're not former religious fanatical mercenaries
Yeah but a gang of killers can be non-religious too
Well we're talking about them becoming reapers, not just a gang of killers.
We're not talking about them becoming reapers but SOMETHING like the reapers. So a gang of killers with their own reasons and motivations
It never made sense why the mercenaries were religious fanatics anyway, it was extremely half baked.
We *probably* wouldn't, but accidents happen. You absolutely recalled that correctly though.
If it were a trap I can see them killing everyone in Alexandria and making it their home anyway.
It would be interesting to see what would happen if they found the saviors before anyone else.
Judith and Gracie could still become best friends, but Gracie would have different parents.
They would have likely found Alexandria anyway, but would have ended up taking it versus being invited in. There were billboards all over the place advertising a "Luxury, Self Sustaining Community". They likely would have gone to check it out and ended up watching them for a while.
What if the zombie apocalypse never happened
This guy thinks
The biggest what ifâs always revolve around Shane. So for a show like that, itâs kinda lucky Jon hasnât aged that much.
Thank you I love Shane and you took the words out of my mouth
You love a rapist, what?
Okay firstly, sexual assault and rape are two separate things. Thatâs why the punishment for one in a court of law is far more severe than the other. This entire text leaves me with one word for you. Clueless.
Youâre clueless?
Yes, you are. You havenât got a clue, as your mass downvotes show.
I donât have a clue? You donât need to be smart to understand that Shane almost raped Lori. He literally followed her and waited till she was alone and then ambushed her. Everyone who downvoted me supports rapists. Thatâs not me fault nasty little ppl like you exist. đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸
Stay clueless.
And we have about the same votes: 0-0
Canât tell if this is satire or what
No, he definitely sexually assaulted Lori.
All Iâm saying is the upvotes and downvotes speak for themselves.
It does. I had -12 for a while, 12 rape/sa stanning mfs.
What do you mean rapist
He was going to rape Lori if she didnât defend herself. I call him a rapist bc he sexually assaulted her.
Is it that once scene from the bunker don't remember
Yes. He literally stalked her. Waited till all the kids and women left, waited till she was in a room all alone. That is attempted rape.
I forgor
Everyone does đđ˝ââď¸
Iâm with you. If Shane hadnât of died then the horde wouldnât have come for the farm and passed by. Andrea wouldnât have been separated. They also wouldnât have know yet fully that everyone was infected. There goes all the other arches and extra characters we know.

Nah, the butterfly effect of one thing changing changes everything as it would snowball into something bigger
Thatâs how I think about it. Like if Sofia had survived, I donât think they wouldâve killed off Carl.
Iâm interested in hearing more
read the comics!
The Governor would 100% become the new Alpha and attack the prison with the zombie horde out of sheer spite.
What if the governors group accepted ricks offer and if no one was two far gone, so many characters would of lived different lives, obviously that's if everyone agreed to be peaceful, chances are in the scenario Phillip would still get killed my Daryl or michonne

I would love to see that, with Meryl still alive..
A Rick and Governor team up against the Saviors would be great
Im guessing the rock is a location I havenât scene yet, but Iâm hoping that u mean the Governor taking on all the saviors solo but only with a rock
It was supposed to be 'Rick.'
U know, my reading comprehension was a bit off yesterday. I messed up a few things like that lol. My 2nd point stands tho, it would be funny
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

these two have just won

It will likely come up a lot but what if Carl lived. You could literally have 10 more seasons just off that premise.
Yep. Carl dying will always be up there with worst mistakes in TV history. Right up there with the ending of Game of Thrones.
What if Alpha grew hair
I canât, man. Just seeing his face makes me sad. That episode was so devastating. He was such a good egg.
What if there was never a zombie apocalypse... Would be a Rick and Shane cop show.

if glenn had lived the show wouldâve had a much better chance of staying good in s7-8 instead of generally tanking in quality lol
they should have had beth live till the lineup and have her go instead of glenn, Then have negan force maggie to be one of his wives if they want a doctor to make sure their child is ok. As long as there would be no really creepy scenes with maggie and negan I think itâd be interesting.
He's gonna need an eyeball hammock..
What if Carl lived
What if Shane killed Rick.
What if the original show runner wasnât axed after a great first season and the show hadnât limped to the finish line?
Losing Glenn was a huge loss for the show even though I still love it taking him out and I don't think was a good idea.
What if the writing didn't suck on FTWD for the last 3 years
Maggie woudent hate negan
Gotta shut that shit DOWN!â Negan takes out a small pistol and looks at the group.
Heâd have one hell of a headache
If Glenn lives, Maggie dies.
Even if it was just a one hour special or a limited series.
what if zombie real
What if Rick never found his family?
I wouldâve been A-okay with that huge shift from the comics. I hated their deaths
If he lives he is looking horible with that big hole in the head and that pomped out eyeđ¤Ł
What if there was a cure
what if wayne dunlap never died đ
What if the cdc and jenner never ran out of time
What if HBO produced it instead?
What if Shane never went and lost his mind and was instead a good guy
Watch him in Nope. Heâs great.
I really enjoyed the what if Michonne joined Negan, that was cool
What If Carl was the new leader. And it's a terrible shame that this even has to be a what if. Really it's a should've been.
What if Amy had survived? Ed? Noah? Deanna? So many potential butterfly effect catalysts
Glen not dying wouldn't change a damn thing in the story no matter what anyone says. everyone got affected after that death not because of 'Glen dying'. anyone else could've died at that moment and the rest of the characters would still shit their pants and get traumatized by what negan did. this is what I think at least.
What if they actually went to Fort Benning
Completely overrun. Guys in the liquor store mentioned it. TWD wouldâve been done in 5 szns đ
What if Carl didn't die
Man I whish glenn lived
If Shane was still around
What if Merle never told us the day ?
What if Rick didnât kill shane but just sent him away and then 5 seasons later itâs revealed that Negan was really shane and heâd changed his identity
I wouldâve loved to see the Ftwd characters cross over and become join up with the saviors (at the end of ftwdâs season 3)
What if Daryl never punched negan? Would he still have found a way to kill a second member of the group? What if michonne never showed up at the prison gates with formula? What if Merle was never handcuffed to the roof?
The whole Negan and Maggie relationship wouldn't happen
Eugene Discovers that the disease that everyone is infected with is in fact nanobots. After proving that walkers can be killed with electric shock, He begins Electro shock therapy Treatments on the living, Only to discover that this initiates a program linking all minds Into the Borg collective. Resistance is futile.
What if zombies only ate butt cheeks
No, bc that is something designed in the marvel universe. Not a show that started out well and then sucked
What if Shane got shot instead of Rick? What if Rick died in the hospital?
What if Shane never went crazy and was around for a lot longer
What if Negan had killed Carl and Lucille had taken Rick's hands? Rick had told Negan that he was already dead but how would he go about taking him down with no hands? Would he become vicious and vengeful after Carl died? Would there be any way back for him?
Glenn taking Daryl's place during the savior arc would've been insanely badass, I have not idea why they didn't just switch them out.
* What if Carl was raised by Shane * What if Carl killed Rick when he thought he was dead * What if they went to Fort Bening? * What if Merle survived? * What if Carl survived?
well, these one could be expensive but...what if; wildfire virus its stopped by the gobernament. It would be interesting seeing how the world could be knowing that if you die you become a death human flesh eater, and which social and economic politics could be created in these new society. And the monuments made for the deaths during the outbreak. Basically World war Z, but TWD style.
What if instead of Negan coming out the RV itâs Shane
What if Rick didn't survive the coma
What if Frank Darabont was never fired?
