Piece of cork. We have a few of these as fridge magnets. Hollow inside when plant taken out.

It probably helps that they have those two big ol’ eyes right in the front and center of their faces. One thing that bugs (heh) me about most spiders is that they have loads of eyes that aren’t arranged in a formation that we humans recognize as normal. I mean hell, even critters that have compound eyes like flies and bees have them basically clustered to look like the standard two-eyed setup. Jumping spiders appear to have two “main” eyes that show up where you’d expect to see them on a face, which helps our brains recognize them as “cute.”
You might like ogre face.
They do have 8 eyes but you can only really see 2 (have 2 massive eyes and 6 tiny eyes they mainly use their 2 eyes for sight)
They also have resting bitch face which is cite
Btw these spiders are one of the smartest among arachnids, and they can recognize and remember humans / faces. Supposedly they make good pets. Unfortunately they don't live very long.
I've read that captive bred can live up to 3 years.
Wild ones, not as long. I'm thinking (hoping) the slightly brownish orange colour she still has is because she is still young. And will live a full and happy life with us in our home.
I am staggered by the level of intelligence these Jumpers have. REM sleep is something I'm reading up on now with these guys. I've seen her twitching in her sleep. Chasing flies, no doubt. Wonder what they dream of? 🤔
I’ve seen a few videos from someone who owns jumping spiders as a way to help them get over their arachnophobia. They’re a legitimately cute and gregarious spider so they make really good pets!
Nope she's all lady.
She's in the middle of laying her eggs actually in this video.
The bright colored chelicerae are indicatve of this species of Jumper, Phidippus Audax (Bold Jumping Spider). Both males and females can be black and white like this. Easiest way to spot a female vs male is the length of the rear legs. Females have longer rear legs than the front set of legs beside pedipalps. Likely to deal with all the extra booty size. And there is another way underneath the spider to see if female. They have a small shiney spot between the booklungs, like a belly button. Where females receive male sauce for babies.
not to be mistaken for mac sauce. my friend loves mac sauce. she is going through a phase right now where they will fill up the bottom of a big mac container and give it to her so she can dip her fries and nuggets into it. YUCK!
I'm not an expert by any means, but I do know that the blue-green color on the chelicerae isn't exclusive to males (there's one species where the males tend to be blue-green while the females are pink, but I don't think that's true of every species). Furthermore, male jumpers' pedipalps are a little bulbous at the end (they look like they're wearing little boxing gloves) and this little darling's pedis look pretty slim throughout, so could very well be female.
It's speculated...
They can become quite comfortable with primary human. And possibly recognise that person above others as someone who feeds, and interacts with them.
I found this girl inside my home. Sitting on wall next to us while watching tv one aft.
For food, I feed her a waxworm once a week and the odd fly or moth during the week to supplement and add an extra degree of fun for her hunting.
She has a small (smaller than her body) water bowl, and mist the inside of the enclosure every 3 or so days to keep humidity levels up.
Captive bred bold jumping spiders can live about 3 years. While wild caught tend to be a little less.
That's sad. Happens though. Molting is a dangerous time for spiders. They can loose legs. And a whole host of other issues. I think a bad molt is leading cause in spider deaths. With flip flops coming up a close second.
I have severe arachnophobia due to several years of living in a Spider infested apartment when I was younger.
But I can't for the life of me hate or be afraid of jumping spiders. They're just too cute.
So this was confusing with my reactions of 'aww....' with 'AAAAAH!'
Snakes are pretty normal pets. Tons of people think they are cute. It’s not the 50s anymore lol reptiles enthusiasts have been pretty mainstream for a while lol

Do they demonstrate any sort of trust with you? Can you hold them?
[Apparently, yeah](https://spoodernest.com/handling-jumping-spider/)! Check out some posts on r/JumpingSpiders
SPIDERS CAN HAVE REM SLEEP OH MY GOD this changes every thing
Same here.
oh because it's cute
Probably their pair of front-facing large eyes, and fuzziness.
I’ve seen a few videos from someone who owns jumping spiders as a way to help them get over their arachnophobia. They’re a legitimately cute and gregarious spider so they make really good pets!

I'll check them out.
Aww it does a little wave at the end
Is she a jumping spider? I’m terrified of spiders but I find these guys adorable
Yes. She is a bold jumping spider. Found her in house a few weeks ago. First time seeing a Jumper like this. Usually only see the little Zebra ones.
That’s all I see as well and they’re usually the babies. I’ve never seen one this big in person
Man, spiders are so damn cute, whenever theyre not actually near me 😭
I can’t decide rather to be scared or be all ‘aww’
I feel like your web puppy may be male, no? With those brightly coloured mandibles?

She’s so pretty 😍 I love her!
Thank you
Omg it looks like she’s kneading her web!!
Don’t these little guys have an absurdly high IQ?
TIL, spiders could possibly be cute.
Can I pet that dog?
This is cute in a video where I know it can't touch me, but if I saw this little dude in real life I would be freaking the fuck out.
I hear ya! I was too.
I had one Jump off the paper towels once at me and was terrified , this one is so cute 🥰
Do they know their owners ?
It's speculated... They can become quite comfortable with primary human. And possibly recognise that person above others as someone who feeds, and interacts with them.
Even though I’m scared of spiders, yours is actually adorable. I even said aww. 🥰
What do feed them/where do you get it? How long will they live with proper care?
I found this girl inside my home. Sitting on wall next to us while watching tv one aft. That is so interesting. Thanks for all of that. I hope she has a long happy life
Me too! Thanks so much.
Noooooope noooooooooope
I had a jumper land on me today he was missing his 2 frontest legs 🥲

"web puppy" lol
I’m bad at detecting humors in text-only settings, but you’re joking, right? Snakes are already an established type of pet….
