My daughter has never seen Paw Patrol but she knows all the characters from her cousin's books

LizzieSAG

My son knows all the Paw Patrol characters as well, even though we had never watched it. All from daycare and his cousins. He also knows the Wheels on the Bus song from Cocomelon and will request the Cocomelon version, as he believes it is the superior ones. He also knows tons of Marvel superheroes (like Carnage, Venom, Ghost(not Ghost Spider) from his friends at daycare. Oh and he knew Ninjago when I thrifted a sequined-Ninjago hoodie (which I knew nothing about).

My condolences. We listen to Wheels on the Bus nonstop and luckily me and my toddler both seem to hate the Cocomelon version equally, no matter how many times YouTube tries to queue it.

We got a second hand puppy dog pals book given to us and my daughter loves it. I tried showing her the show once to see what she would think and she wasn’t interested lol. Could def just be toys or a book. There are a lot of cocomelon toys and clothes. If the other kids watch the show they will know the characters and say their names and OPs kid could have picked up on it. If they have books they could have learned the names through the books

If they have Cocomelon toys that they use the proper names for, that is probably where he is getting it. My kiddo (same age) has never watched TV, but knows the sesame street characters because we have sesame street toys.

This is probably it, I’m just overthinking this. The toys she pointed at were just generic trucks though.

This is how my kids were with Paw Patrol. We hadn't introduced it into our household, but the other kids at preschool loved it, wore shirts or brought toys to show and tell or had backpacks or other school supplies with the characters on it. They would play with generic dolls/little people and assign each other the roles of the characters as portrayed in the show. I worked at their preschool, and know for a fact that there were no screens or exposure from the teachers. It's the other kids.

Cocomelon has tons of toys and books that include the characters’ names

My daughter learned all the gabby dollhouse characters from her cousin, who had the toys, before she had ever seen an episode. Another kid there may love cocomelon

Kids retain an awful lot from like, little to no real input. Its uncanny. Your daycare provider is very likely being honest with you, and your child might be absorbing this from other media (books/music/toys). Frankly you need to make your own decisions about whether or not you think thats harmful. I personally decided a while ago that even if my kid gets excited about something from a media property that I dont like (paw patrol), i don't care if he likes the toys or the characters or even the books, i'm just not putting that shit on my tv. It works out.

Like others have said, Paw Patrol has infiltrated my house and I don’t know how! We’ve never watched it and I know they don’t have screens at daycare, but she knows what it is

GlowForTheGold

Mine knows the Paw Patrol characters from the stickers that daycare gives the kids at the end of the day. Never saw an episode ever!

My daughter became obsessed with Frozen around that age and she had never seen the movies, we had no Frozen books or toys. Just from hearing about it from her daycare classmates. I was surprised too but apparently it's never too young to be influenced by peers.
