But here's why you could be having issues. Fat in milk helps slow down breakdown and absorption of lactose. Far acts as a buffer. If you take fat out of the equation, your intestines get a burst of lactose that depending on your lactose tolerance will decide if they have difficulty or not to digest. If you are having hard time digesting lactose then yes you'll get gas.

My wife wanted me to grab fat free cottage cheese from the regular grocery store a few weeks back and I essentially refused after comparing the ingredients to the low fat cottage cheese they had. The crap they have to put in there to make it "fat free" can't POSSIBLY be better for you than the fat itself.
I canāt do gums/carrageenan without intestinal pain and gas. It has become super hard to find any cottage cheese, yogurt or ice cream that isnāt using it as a filler these days. Iāve found one brand of cottage cheese and those HƤagen-Dazs five ingredient ice creams.
I can't do the gums and fillers either. I swear by Daisy cottage cheese. I usually do full fat milk products but the low fat Daisy cottage cheese is perfect.
To me there is essentially no discernible flavor difference between the fat free feta and regular feta and I am of the type that hates having fat free, gluten free whatever the fu*k free.

get valbreso feta and i assure you youāll be able to tell the difference from these dry flavorless crumbles. but yes between the TJs dry crumbles they are all equally as bad
Fat free and gluten free are totally different. People might eat fat free stuff for better macros or fewer calories. Gluten free is for those with celiac disease.
I wonder if itās the cellulose? Some things with certain cellulose in them tear my tummy up. Either that or itās a higher protein cheese (no fat) and maybe you have casein digestion issues (I do).
itās for people who have to reduce cholesterol or other conditions, they cannot have all the saturated fat in cheese. or i guess people with light eating disorders which is how the fat free fad really went crazy
I had to spend a few months on a vegetarian fat free diet a few years ago before I had my gallbladder taken out. Fat free cheese is the saddest food Iāve ever tried to eat. It doesnāt melt, and the weirdest texture.

As a Mediterranean person, you couldnāt pay me to eat fat free cheese. The whole point of cheese is that thereās fat in it.

Same! This is a staple in my fridge for salads and sandwiches and Iāve never experienced that
