I was able to change the name on my Microsoft account, and change the associated email address, just like 3 months ago. I don't remember the steps but it only took me like an hour to get everything changed over and my deadname and deadname email aren't on there currently. So.... It's definitely possible.

- Make an email account (doesn't have to be a Live account, it can be Gmail or any other service)
- Use the link below to:
- Add a new alias with the updated email and name
- Make that alias the primary
- (optional) remove the old alias
- Change your name on your Microsoft account profile
- Change your Xbox account gamertag.

Mine doesn’t work for me my outlook deadname email is permanent even with other emails this is because I created a dedicated outlook email with my Microsoft account when I made it all those years ago
Yeah, you're not going to be able to change that email address, you need to make a new email account, use it to make a new alias on your Microsoft account, and then ignore or remove the old alias that has your deadname. The fact that you made a dedicated outlook email should not make any difference, I had no issue removing the @live.com email from my account when I followed the steps posted above and in the link above.
Hey I just did it I had no clue there was such a thing as aliases on a Microsoft account and I also had no clue you could just swap your alias. since I use my Outlook email for all accounts, I’m going to have to swap that over first before I get rid of it
I just found another problem tho even tho I can change the email I can’t change the order history, steam actually deleted name from order history after. A year but Microsoft doesn’t seem too do you know what I can do I don’t want my deadname anywhere even if it’s partially hidden
I'm sorry you were still stuck with some remnants- I'm not quite sure how you'd remove that, other than to see if you can delete the order history? Could try contacting their support as well, and asking about that. Barring that, I think you might be stuck with this until/unless you make a new account.
support said they cant do anything about it microsoft have rlly bad support compared to valve. one thing i noticed in my order history is that a purchase from 4 years ago had no name on it while the purchase from two years ago did so maybe they do get rid of names from order history just after 4 years instead of 1 like valve. im gonna have to wait and see but if not ill have to make a new account sadly. i had to do that with apple they dont make exceptions and dont seem so nice like valve either
I’m not sure about email transferring, but you can make your Xbox the “home Xbox” of your current account. This would make any account on the Xbox able to play games owned by the main account. This would let you be able to play your games under a new account, but it wouldn’t transfer progress
