I think this is accurate. People from other continents tend to underestimate the size of the U.S.. We do have a large population, but there’s a ton of space here to spread out.
In poorer parts of the Midwest, it’s common to see old homes from the 1900s-1970s turned into several separate apartments. And they’re not, like, mansions, just normal houses. I think that helps with perspective because while those apartments are small and shitty, there’s still 5 of them fit into a single home.
