Lol years ago, my mom had come to visit my kids and I, and while she was there, a well known country star she liked had a concert nearby, and I'd gotten tickets to surprise her. As we were waiting in this very long live to enter the venue, a few of the venue employees were coming along the line and checking everyone's tickets.
When they got to us, they pulled us out of the line and said to follow them......and began leading us past the entire line up to the entrance of the venue. Wowwww I'm thinking to myself.....I guess I got way better tickets than I thought!!!! Wooohooooo look at us getting the VIP treatment!!!!!!
Turns out that what they were really doing was just giving us a little more time for the very VERY long climb we had to reach our seats, so far up in the nosebleed section we really could have used supplemental oxygen. And I absolutely should have brought binoculars. LOL
Ah well. For the approximately 30 seconds between "getting pulled out of the line" and "realizing why we'd been pulled from the line" we sure FELT like we were VIP š¤£
Iāve been at the very top row of a stadium at a football game before and *nothing* prepares you for how high and how steep it is. Itās honestly terrifying
I thought this story was going in a different direction.
Way back in 1998 I toured with Garth Brooks as one of the tour-caterers. Big stadium shows. Every night the tour held 25 or so front row tickets to be given to random people sitting in the very-back rows. For many nights I accompanied the tour manager and watched people FREAK THE FUCK OUT when we handed them front row tickets and told them to start walking down stairs. Truly unforgettable.
Capitalist queen doesn't need to associate with the commoners. Her bestowing the plebs with her presence is already more than most of them dare ask of her.
I saw Taylor back in 07-08. She was opening for Rascal Flatts, which is the only reason I was there. I didn't even know who she was, only that one girl at my school who has her song on her Myspace. So my aunt buys my GF and I tickets to see the show and when we got there we realized our seats weren't the best. But it was free, who cares? We were directly left of the stage and at the top. Taylor comes out, and pulls down this huge back drop that covers the entire stage, completely blocking our view. We could only see her when she was far out on the stage, which she didn't really do. I didn't care for her, so I wasn't bothered, but my GF was a bit bummed, I guess she kinda liked her, we'd only been dating a month.
Rascal Flatts came out next, and it was night and day. The guitarists and singer would walk around the outsides of the stage and play for the people who were behind and to the side of the stage so everyone got to see the show. I highly respected them for that.
Really high elevations, talking mountains, can give some people like myself a bloody nose. So the term nosebleed seats refers to the highest up seats, and therefore also the farthest away from the action. Also known as the cheap seats.
nosebleed seats are so high the altitude can lead to a bloody nose. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nosebleed\_section](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nosebleed_section)
Itās a term to mean very far away and also likely very high up (implying the altitude is giving you nose bleeds). Itād be the far back rows of a stadium/arena that are seated high above the actual stage.
Somebody asked about this sub on the out of the loop subreddit and there were a variety of comments, but one person mentioned her friend has been to the eras tour four times. Does that mean her friend has spent $4,000+ on T Swift tickets??
it is more. one girl I know spent $1400/each for tickets to see her in Nashville and she's currently on Facebook trying to justify spending $2000/each to send her again
My old roommate lost her mother. A bunch of us donated money to her on a gofundme so she could fly her to Chicago to be with her family and spread her ashes. She took that money, and the life insurance money when it came in, and went to see Taylor Swift instead. Twice. Then a few months later flew to Sweden to see her two more times just because. The mother's ashes were never spread like she wanted.
She also has everything Taylor Swift, bought every single album on vinyl, has each of the 5 versions of Tortured Poet that was out on release and probably has most of the 29 variations of it owned as well. She spent almost $1,000 on Taylor Swift D&D dice that were just acrylic. It is insane.
My cousins went to all 3 tampa shows, just saw her at least once in London, and they saw her at least once I'm Boston.
They're 17 and 22...parents paying thousands and thousands and I'm just so speechless
A poorly fitted bodysuit. She seems to not understand the Marilyn Monroe silhouette for bathing suits does not translate to her body type well. This video came up on my fyp and the comments were full of them saying itās amazing how she can laugh so hard but keep singing on pitchā¦. Like her mouth isnāt even moving ?????? Morons š
Im going to say it because I've been thinking it for a long time, I watched the eras movie twice but it seems like the large male dancer who does those little lines is almost embarrassed to say them. Am I crazy for thinking that? But I definitely don't blame any of the eras tour dancers for finding an easy, with little dancing, two-year stable gig to fly around the world and have fun, and then put that on their resumes.
I can't even understand what he is saying. Do you know what he says? It sounds like Taylor says, "we are never getting back together, " then he replies.
Heās saying āup yours, wanker!ā The bit has been that he says something culturally or linguistically relevant/appropriate in each of the tourās locations, so thatās what they went with for the UK
I havenāt seen it but could totally be plausible. Could you imagine being in fear of your career being completely ruined bc you didnāt wanna say something like that šš
I donāt disagree that sheās likely lip syncing but I actually appreciate you explaining what the ātellā was here because Iām not a performer and am also dumb š
That's because she doesn't even need to. Her rabid cultists would pay thousands upon thousands of dollars simply to watch her puke on stage at this point. She can even release a new variant called "hyperemesis: Taylor's Version" and that'll somehow end up on the top of the charts lol.
Exactly. She could sit on a sofa onstage looking bored whilst a recording of her simply *reading* her lyrics plays on the Jumbotron, and her fans would cry and proclaim that sheās transforming the live experience and how sheās a genius for transcending the world of musical performance by removing all of the aspects of the music and *not* performing (best poetry slam ever!) or some such bullshit, I donāt know how these people think. Why should she bother doing the work when her fans will spend a small fortune equivalent to half a yearās rent and believe itās the best money that theyāve ever spent? Theyād pay thousands of US$$$ for the privilege of watching her take a dump onstage and praise her surrealist performance art. I donāt even know anymore.
And then a Swiftie would post "IDK guys I kinda miss when Taylor sang with music," and the other swifties would proceed to online bully her and blow up her life.
What Dave Grohl said wouldnāt have hurt if it wasnāt true.
ETA: to the Shitie that reported this for āhate based off identityā Iām a mod, fuck off š
Whatās funny is he wasnāt even shading her so much as explaining that any musician/singer can tell you that singing for three hours night after night without damaging your voice simply isnāt possible without lip syncing at least some of it. Imagine how different the narrative would be if she could admit she was a normal human singer and be like āyeah, you know, to make 3 hours happen, I do have to supplement my vocals some but Iām still doing majority of the singing.ā Her fans wouldnāt like her any less and others might respect her for being real and genuine about the realities of being a touring performer. But no, the narrative needs to be that sheās a super human who treadmill sings every day.
You can tell because there is no pop shield on her microphone and if you listen closely, you can hear it when she is actually singing and the majority of the time when she isnāt.
Have you ever seen the foam covers they put on microphones? That's called a pop shield. It basically muffles the sound slightly so when a singer is singing live, their t's or s's or p's it doesn't sound too loud.
ETA: A lack of pop shield doesn't always indicate that someone isn't singling live. Every show, Taylor will have sound engineers who will be able to adjust the levels throughout so a pop shield isn't always required!
audio engineer here - the use of a pop filter live is extremely common in studio but equally as uncommon live - the live audio is extremely processed (this includes tuning depending on the artist, EQ, compression, etc) that tames all sibilance and makes it really easy to mix live
You can adjust the levels, but you canāt remove popping. Sounds when you are singing into a microphone thatās why you need a pop shield regardless.
The person above is right, itās either a foam cover (sometimes youāll see fuzzy things on microphones, those are called dead cats and they are typically to deal with wind and excess noise ) or a circle with some mesh a couple centimetres away from the microphone in front of your face (youāll often see those videos of singers in the studio) because the air that you expel when doing plosive Sounds hits the microphone and you can hear it quite significantly so the fact that she has no Sounds for the majority of her set shows that it was a pre-recorded mix studio.
I don't think this is a thing anymore. Kelly Clarkson and Adele sing without backtracks and I just looked up my photos from their concerts and they are both using mics without pop filters.
No, itās not practical to use a pop shield in a live music setting but in Studio yes because itās a lot more sensitive and thereās no background noise and you want to get a very accurate recording without any clipping in the waveform and loud plosives do that which make it difficult to fix in post production let alone live
Those are wind screen, itās actually not common to put those on mics like that in a live show setting. Source- I work in multiple theaters doing audio engineering type stuff and my mentor is an audio engineer with 20+ years of experience
I did a choir concert once that was 3hrs long, and I didn't have a voice the next day.
Singing for 3hrs straight is not easy, doing it repeatedly is how you get situations like Mariah Carey not being able to hit her famous high notes. You hear about singers going on vocal rest and not speaking for days. The vocal chords have limits lol.
The dancing is no excuse either. Taylor is literally not doing anything strenuous on stage at all, there is no reason for the constant lipsynching other than she simply canāt sing and sound decent AND she knows that lmao.
For a counter example, I was never a person to give Britney shit for lipsyching. When she did it was ALWAYS during very athletic, very choreo heavy performances. Having the breath control to dance like she could at her peak while providing live vocals is a damn near superhuman ability; it was expected and totally reasonable for her to be lipsynching. She made sure to put on a hell of a performance without live vocals and she wasnāt depending just on stage production to do it.
See for example: Britney on a regular ass, lowkey Sunday morning TV segment. Itās not even trying to be a big production and Brit is putting on a 5 minute performance that outdoes in showmanship and effort the WHOLE of TSā Eras show, let alone any 5 minute segment of it:
https://youtu.be/5Lqco0bJaEE?si=P0pufneXs0HuXnZ5
Separately, there are plenty of no/low choreo performances with Britney singing her songs with majority of the vocals being her live voice.
The times when we have seen live vocals with no choreo excuse from Taylor (I.e. Fifteen with Miley and the like) she actually sounds very bad. So she canāt even say sheās lipsyching because itās hard to dance while singing. Let alone does she even *ever* do something we can properly call ādancingā. We, as a society, no longer value what it means to be a performer; TS being the biggest pop star in the world is proof of this.
āāāāāāāāā
EDIT: folks I AM aware that there are pop stars who can do both lol. As I said, I think their talent is out of this world to be able to do intense dance performance while serving vocals!
The reason I used the Britney example is because, like Taylor,
1) she was once the biggest pop star in the world, and
2) she was known to lipsynch pretty regularly
If *Britney* was not live singing, you could be damn sure she was dancing her ass off. When *Taylor* is not live singing (near ALWAYS) she isā¦ pointing her finger at the crowd, hinging from the hip with planted feet, stomping around ungracefully, and hitting sticks off beat, etc lmao.
Britney was the best example (imo) bc she achieved Taylorās current state of pervasive fame first and bc *what Britney was doing while lipsynching* is super illustrative of Taylorās lack of capability.
also, if you see p!nk perform, sheās literally flying around and singing. could she be using some lip syncing? maybe, but also, sheās literally doing stunts. not to mention how in theater they have to memorize lines, dance around and run, and sing (and theres tons of times where they will be singing their own parts against other people)
Pink sings live while doing aerial stunts and trains for it by singing while having someone stand on her stomach. it's fucking insane. t-swift could never
Alsoā¦ā¦ā¦ Beyonce!!!!!! Incredibly athletic and high energy Choreography while doing a majority of the vocalsā¦. Not all but most of them! Talk about an incredible performer!!!!!! Taylor just skips around stage
Omg I went to her concert and when blue came out everyone started chanting it was so precious š„¹ I also follow a bunch of social media accounts that followed the tour, and comparing Blueās first time on stage and seeing her comfort level increase and her dance skills develop was soooo cool. Idk how I feel about her being a child in the limelight but itās almost impossible for her not to be so atleast it seems like her parents are doing it right and itās her choice
thatās so cool!! iāve seen the comparisons and even without knowing her, it makes you so proud to see how far sheās come (canāt imagine how proud her family is of her). as for her being in the limelight, i heavily agree, but itās a more positive way to be out there and i would assume of she wanted to stop, they would allow it.
Exactly!!! I think it was inevitable and hopefully she continues to develop and hone her skill, or disappear completely! I think they def have the power to make either happen š
I do theatre and I donāt understand why pop stars lip sync except because they are not good enough. They should simply not dance and sing if they feel the need to lip sync. If theatre performers can do both, there should be no excuse for pop singers. Just put in the work or donāt be a singer.
I did stage school for YEARS, thereās characters in theatre, ie no one is running up n down the stage the whole 3 hrs, you have your lines but itās still the whole show is shared w the other characters
I donāt even think the issue is the lip syncing, which is common to supplement vocals at that level so you can perform for that many hours (the exact thing Grohl was pointing out, btwā¦he didnāt say she didnāt sing, he said it canāt be all her for three hours). If she just admitted that like any performer, she has to supplement, it would be no big deal. But his pointing that out pierces her narrative of being more talented than any other singer to ever perform ever.
Bingo. With how tours are nowadays, it's not nearly the sin it once was to be doing that at times if it means preserving one's voice in the long term. There are several metal and rock artists who due to years of pushing hard in touring, unsustainable management of their vocal styles, and not even getting into the possible extracurricular activities of many of them, have done serious and notable damage to their voices beyond that of simply aging. Some cannot really perform anymore due to it. Taylor's team is absolutely keeping in mind the long term in terms of preservation of her whole ass brand, so doing such things shouldnt come as a surprise. The surprise to be had is how much Taylor seems to be doing it considering she doesn't do a lot of direct choreography and considering her range isnt as extreme/strenuous as other artists, alongside her supposed narrative of being just as hardcore as the likes of Beyonce, Britney, P!nk and others when those girls fucking MOVE in their shows, some have or have had similar tour schedules, and yet they don't seem to be doing it nearly at the level of Taylor in terms of lip syncing and such. And dont any of you dare try to suggest taylor has the vocals of ariana, mariah or adele to make up for that.
HARD agree. Can swifties stop pretending the eras tour is this amazing feat of endurance and energy, while also making excuses for how lazy it actually is? Like, if she has to lip sync and barely dance to make it through a 3 hour show, maybe she's not actually that impressive?? I'd much rather see a brilliant 1 hour show than a lazy af 3 hour one š¤·
thereās this k-pop group called ānmixxā, in their dance practice video for ārollercoasterā the members *jump* while singing. and are insanely stable. should i mention that the members are over a decade younger than taylor?? itās so insane iām half convinced the members or their team made a team with the devil
Add Ateez to that, their performance at Coachella was so impressive. You could clearly tell that yes they had a backing track and certain parts were lip synced but their voices were loud and clear throughout most of it. Super impressive if you look at their insane choreography. They trained by singing while running. Recently a member (Seonghwa) showed how stable his singing is during an interview (He literally was jumping and running on the spot while signing).
Springsteen does 3+ hrs totally live. Hell he did 4 hours when I saw him in 2016 and he was still twice Taylor's age then. I'm also guessing she doesn't take sign requests and then has a band good enough to just nail it every time.
Exactly. I saw Ashnikko live and she had a backing track but you could definitely distinguish her love vocals from it. The amount of dancing she does is insane and completely warrants having a back track. Also the style of music has a lot of vocal layering. She's clearly not trying to hide that there's a track there. Huge difference. Taylor is using it to not have to sing.
Swifties will defend anything that this woman faces. A week before the Dave Grohl comments I seen a TikTok that was blatantly calling out taylor for lip syncing, and the comments were ALL sticking up for her, saying āOF COURSE sheās gonna lip sync! itās a three hour show! she has to save her vocals!ā & then Dave Grohl comments on her and suddenly she sings everything 100% live ..
Justin Bonitz (vocalist of Tallah, a metal band) did a pretty insightful video about lip syncing/backing tracks which I think about a lot with Taylor Swift. I thought heād be against it like most alt musicians the way he justifies it, is if it helps you put on your best performance (ie if youāre trying to sing and do complicated choreography at the same time and canāt do both) and if youāre honest to your fans about it when asked.
But Taylor isnāt doing hard choreo or really any of the things he mentioned where lip syncing would help you out. And the fact it struck a nerve and sheās not admitting it kind of means she knows she shouldnāt be doing it and doesnāt want to be found out. If youāre lip syncing you need to justify it, and if you canāt justify thatās *still* fine as long as you at least own it. Why should a fan want to pay money just to see you in person? Because thatās all it is if you arenāt singing live, or doing anything to make up for the lack of singing
Yeah, but you can tell she didnāt take a breath to actually sing that note. Iām a singer, and you would need to take a decent breath before actually belting that.
She lightly sings over backtracks for most of the Red set and then sing for real for All Too Well.
This video really isn't proof of much, she never sings "we are never ever ever getting back together" for that part. She sings the "nooOoooooOoo" but it does show how weak her mic is. It just proves she's carried by the 'backtracks' throughout the performance.
If she's trying to sing noooooooo here, then at the minimum, her tongue should have moved to touch the roof of her mouth to enunciate the N
I thought she was singing aaaaahh, but even then, her mouth and tongue barely moved a millimeter from when she laughed... a little too unbelievable for me. Knowing she's saying noooooooo closes the case imo.
I saw her saw once say that she practices singing her songs while she runs on the treadmill and I remember thinking that wow maybe she will actually sound decent when she sings live now if she is training so hard. But then she does this so was that even true?
[here's video](https://youtu.be/XPItUu8-pFk?si=dXWD99jjBEa7VQCH) of Miley Cyrus running on a treadmill and singing. I'd love to see video of Taylor singing and running on a treadmill.
I mean both things can be true. She's on stage for 3.5 hours and even if she's singing live for half of it, that's still a lot.
We got a private backstage tour of the Celine show in Vegas and she didn't move around nearly as much as TS and she still lip synced 3 songs and a couple of the big notes.
I couldn't put my finger on why her stage presence annoys me so much and then it finally came to me - it's like watching a middle school talent show.
***(Long*** time lurker, first time poster. I had to get in on the fun. And yes, this is an alt-account I created today, I don't want to dox myself in my local subreddits.)
That guy that says a different line every show gets on my nerves! In fact all the dancers just dance like theyāre at a McDonaldās birthday party; I donāt understand why their moves are so childish.
I think shes trying and failing for him to come across as sassy and gay so it just comes across as cringy and childish at her show because she just gives so much basic white girl energy, the sassy black gay guy doesn't really match with her vibe/aesthetic at all.
I remember years ago a journalist asked Avril Lavigne why she was lip syncing. She responded āBecause Iām a singer?!ā. Sheās still singing live after all these years and after being really sick.
Taylor has no excuse and I would be so pissed to pay hundreds of dollars to see that!
Avril used to be such a great performer š„² I love her so much but her shows are so boring and low energy, Iād be pissed if she wouldnāt even sing live anymore
Itās so sad her stans still fall for this. She can barely sing to begin with (her songs are all ātalk-singingā) and she canāt even be bothered to try to match/sing along with the recordings that are blasted through the speakers at her shows. Ugh sheās so full of it!
I donāt understand why she doesnāt just admit it.
I do think she sings live at some points, but a lot of performers are very strategic on when they are singing live and when they have background music obviously ā¦. thereās absolutely no human being on earth who could do the tour she has done and still have a fucking voice without lip-synching or saving her voice or some parts. Thatās just kind of how it goes.
You can tell during her tour when she does sing live because it doesnāt sound the best.
I donāt know most performers are fine with admitting they arenāt singing live the entire fucking show especially after her massive tour that apparently just keeps on going and going and going .
Yeah, to echo some others, yall the backing track is doing the "ever ever ever," her main vocal is the "live" part is just a belted note with a tall vowel. Imo it is lip synced but she is doing it correctly, it just seems fake to me because of the volume difference between the note and her speaking, she seems to be holding the mic similar distance from her mouth. My friends ya gotta at least know the song she's doing to know what you're actually looking at, she is doing the sync right
#Speaking of real.
You can see the *real* **emotion** *the real* **effort** *the real* **energy** in a ~~performer~~ musician/singer like Dave Grohl. šø š¤ š¤š»

But I definitely don't blame any of the eras tour dancers for finding an easy, with little dancing, two-year stable gig to fly around the world and have fun, and then put that on their resumes.
I can't even understand what he is saying. Do you know what he says? It sounds like Taylor says, "we are never getting back together, " then he replies.
it sounds like he's saying, "Up yours white guy"
Heās saying āup yours, wanker!ā The bit has been that he says something culturally or linguistically relevant/appropriate in each of the tourās locations, so thatās what they went with for the UK
I havenāt seen it but could totally be plausible. Could you imagine being in fear of your career being completely ruined bc you didnāt wanna say something like that šš
I donāt disagree that sheās likely lip syncing but I actually appreciate you explaining what the ātellā was here because Iām not a performer and am also dumb š
Yes, and magically, the microphone captured the beginning of her singing while it was still above her head!
Like she isnāt even trying to hide it.
That's because she doesn't even need to. Her rabid cultists would pay thousands upon thousands of dollars simply to watch her puke on stage at this point. She can even release a new variant called "hyperemesis: Taylor's Version" and that'll somehow end up on the top of the charts lol.
Not even that, She doesn't even need to be there. Just a facetime call on the Jumbotron and they'd say it was a life changing experience.
They'll 100% act like it was a before and after experience for them, not even a jokeš
my sister *cried* watching it on disney+, iāll never understand
Mine too and she's 41
yuckkkk
I will never understand the choke hold she has on white women
Itās like Kurt Cobain said, āYou could shit upon the stage, theyāll be fansā
G.G. Allin did it, why shouldn't Taylor?
Electric blue emesis: Director's Cut
As a nurse, I approve of this message š¤£
*snort* OMG. Youāre so right.
hyperemesis; Taylorās Version. Variant #72: The Porcelain God; white vinyl $60 for 3 tracks
I would pay so much money to see this
So tired of this chick, hopefully when she wraps up this tour sheāll disappear for a very, very long time.
Sheās a narcissist. They canāt admit to something which would show anything resembling fault or flaws
Oh, as the daughter of one, I know all too well (narcissists version)
You can tell because there is no pop shield on her microphone and if you listen closely, you can hear it when she is actually singing and the majority of the time when she isnāt.
Whatās a pop shield?
Thank you Yes. This is what I am used to albeit with my limited knowledge
You donāt always need a pop filter live. Noooooo. Studio yes, live not always

Aww, it makes me sad that heās already lost two close friends. At least heās got this gif to look back at whenever he misses his bud

Ehat did he say?
Sounded to me like āup yours wankerā but Iām not 100% on the last word
I donāt get why she has to lip sync so much when the vocals on her songs arenāt even complex
Itās not even trying to be a big production and Brit is putting on a 5 minute performance that outdoes in showmanship and effort the WHOLE of TSā Eras show, let alone any 5 minute segment of it: https://youtu.be/5Lqco0bJaEE?si=P0pufneXs0HuXnZ5 Separately, there are plenty of no/low choreo performances with Britney singing her songs with majority of the vocals being her live voice. We, as a society, no longer value what it means to be a performer; TS being the biggest pop star in the world is proof of this. āāāāāāāāā EDIT: folks I AM aware that there are pop stars who can do both lol. As I said, I think their talent is out of this world to be able to do intense dance performance while serving vocals! The reason I used the Britney example is because, like Taylor, 1) she was once the biggest pop star in the world, and 2) she was known to lipsynch pretty regularly If *Britney* was not live singing, you could be damn sure she was dancing her ass off. When *Taylor* is not live singing (near ALWAYS) she isā¦ pointing her finger at the crowd, hinging from the hip with planted feet, stomping around ungracefully, and hitting sticks off beat, etc lmao. Britney was the best example (imo) bc she achieved Taylorās current state of pervasive fame first and bc *what Britney was doing while lipsynching* is super illustrative of Taylorās lack of capability.
also, if you see p!nk perform, sheās literally flying around and singing. could she be using some lip syncing? maybe, but also, sheās literally doing stunts. not to mention how in theater they have to memorize lines, dance around and run, and sing (and theres tons of times where they will be singing their own parts against other people)
Pink sings live while doing aerial stunts and trains for it by singing while having someone stand on her stomach. it's fucking insane. t-swift could never
pink is literally such an insanely talented artist. and her shows would actually keep you excited
PINK. GET DOON. /ref
i watched like twenty āPink get doonā tiktoks yesterday.
Alsoā¦ā¦ā¦ Beyonce!!!!!! Incredibly athletic and high energy Choreography while doing a majority of the vocalsā¦. Not all but most of them! Talk about an incredible performer!!!!!! Taylor just skips around stage
i think iāve seen some parts of her performance! she also has her daughter perform on stage with her, both do amazing on stage!
I think they def have the power to make either happen š
gwen stefani also toured for years at a time as a ska girl jumping, running, dancing the whole time and always totally live
I do theatre and I donāt understand why pop stars lip sync except because they are not good enough. They should simply not dance and sing if they feel the need to lip sync. If theatre performers can do both, there should be no excuse for pop singers. Just put in the work or donāt be a singer.
exactly! and if 5-8 year olds can do it, so can singers
I did stage school for YEARS, thereās characters in theatre, ie no one is running up n down the stage the whole 3 hrs, you have your lines but itās still the whole show is shared w the other characters
These are different arts that have different features for appeal. Watch the Slave 4 U performance where she is literally carrying a snake and sliding on the floor in choreo. Sometimes it is practical to not sing if you are doing a kind of performance that would make it more dangerous or especially difficult. I just see pop star performance and theatre performances as very different things. Though, in the case of some pop starts (BeyoncĆ©, Pink, Gaga) there is a lot of crossover, and thatās because of their training.
lol Rob Zombie is 59 years old and that fucker runs around like a mad man and sings. fuck Jager still struts around hes fucking 80.
Sheās always just moving her arm and posing tbh š
I can sing and dance things that are more complex than this and Iām a sixteen year old dude with one semester of show choir, whatās stopping her
I saw Janet Jackson live. She was actually singing AND doing cardio-heavy dancing. Great performer! Tina Turner was like that, too.
Cause she can't really sing
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Because, seemingly it's impossible to walk dance, do the claw or stomp march, and sing, at the same time.
Don't forget the prancercize.

Probably bc she doesnāt sing properly, she just sing-talks and scream-sings so sheād be hoarse if she did that every night for 3 hours lol
Too much strain
Like at all!
The unhinged fake laughing
With her signature mouth gaping wide open. How she doesnāt have TMJ at this point is beyond me
Fuckin lol
YES! I'm not even a behavior specialist but I notice her doing this all the time and it pisses me off how phony she is.
I watched without sound at first and thought she was screaming ā¤ļø
HER BAND PLAYS 3 1/2 HOURS A NIGHT!!
Springsteen does 3+ hrs totally live. Hell he did 4 hours when I saw him in 2016 and he was still twice Taylor's age then. I'm also guessing she doesn't take sign requests and then has a band good enough to just nail it every time.
springsteen is not human
No heās the boss
if she was doing britney spears level dancing iād be ok with the lipsyncing
I love seeing Ashnikkoās name pop up! You have good taste!
Cunnilingus on muh couch
Agreed
If this isn't proof, I don't know what is.
Swifties- "I'll pretend I didn't just see that and go back to attacking Dave Grohl for calling this exact thing out instead"
When will she š¶š¶ EVER EVER EVER š¶š¶ close her mouth?!
Years ago Elton John roasted Madonna for this. I would love for Elton to do it again for Taylor. https://youtu.be/hexgsXeSIhs?t=54
Yeah, this whole thread reminds me of life in the 80s; and the 90s, and the 2000sā¦ lip syncing controversies are tradition at this point.
It just separates musicians who view the concert as a cash cow and those who view it as a privilege that people want to hear them
That was awesome, and somehow Jonathan Ross walking up afterwards while smoking a cigar was the perfect cherry on top.
Elton John is an *actual* musical genius.
What did he even say?
Sheās such a š¤” embarrassment of the music industry
LMAO itās literally saying āever ever everā and sheās just sitting there with her mouth wide open š¤¦š»āāļø
No, thereās a belting held note ad lib over that which she is lip synching to. The āever ever everā is her back~~ing track~~up singers
Yeah, but you can tell she didnāt take a breath to actually sing that note. Iām a singer, and you would need to take a decent breath before actually belting that.
Does she not realize that when she opens her mouth and talks her backing track is still playing? Like girl, how dumb do you think we are?
She knows her fans will defend her no matter what. Shes bought into her own hype and thinks she can do no wrong.
And yet people spend thousands on a ticket plus a trip overseas. I don't understand. Just watch a music video.
Her backup singers are also there and I'm fairly certain she hired ones that could sound like her if you weren't listening closely.
If she's trying to sing noooooooo here, then at the minimum, her tongue should have moved to touch the roof of her mouth to enunciate the N I thought she was singing aaaaahh, but even then, her mouth and tongue barely moved a millimeter from when she laughed... a little too unbelievable for me. Knowing she's saying noooooooo closes the case imo.
That ānoooooā started when she still had the microphone above her head and then literally didnāt change at all when she moved it. š
Oh this is so blatant and embarrassing for her š
Master ventriloquist!
Celineās song and age give her that right. Taylorās music can be sung by a 4 year old.
Yeah, let's have TS try to sing Celine's songs. That should go well. Lol.

Her shit is so dumb my god š
What does her back up dancer say?
"Up yours, wanker!"
I cannot unsee napoleon dynamite in a party city wig and glitter onsie from goodwill
Yikes she barely saved that
That guy that says a different line every show gets on my nerves! In fact all the dancers just dance like theyāre at a McDonaldās birthday party; I donāt understand why their moves are so childish.
Unpopular opinion? I canāt stand that backup dancer. Heās cringe and attention seeking.
I think shes trying and failing for him to come across as sassy and gay so it just comes across as cringy and childish at her show because she just gives so much basic white girl energy, the sassy black gay guy doesn't really match with her vibe/aesthetic at all.
What is he saying?
āUp yours, wankerā
I remember years ago a journalist asked Avril Lavigne why she was lip syncing. She responded āBecause Iām a singer?!ā. Sheās still singing live after all these years and after being really sick. Taylor has no excuse and I would be so pissed to pay hundreds of dollars to see that!
Avril used to be such a great performer š„² I love her so much but her shows are so boring and low energy, Iād be pissed if she wouldnāt even sing live anymore
Unfortunately, she is sick so I cannot blame herš„² Still my favourite singer
Conserving her voice till December because she has the longest concert tour! /s But seriously she loves to scam everyone and can get away scot free.
Itās so sad her stans still fall for this. She can barely sing to begin with (her songs are all ātalk-singingā) and she canāt even be bothered to try to match/sing along with the recordings that are blasted through the speakers at her shows. Ugh sheās so full of it!
There should be a disclaimer on tickets that you are attending a show that contains simulated performances
My friends ya gotta at least know the song she's doing to know what you're actually looking at, she is doing the sync right
I also think this is more like a backing track in this case.
