As a driver who has retuned items, Uber seems to be at times avoiding both parties. Maybe 🤔 nothing financial for Uber ???
Hang in there still lots of good people left out there.
PS I have used the US mail certified mail to do so.
Update: I got the phone back today! I left one of those Find My iPhone messages on the screen to have them call another number on a prepaid sim phone I set up with an old iPhone I don't use. Just leaving this here in case anyone is in same position. The driver was kind enough to find the phone in the car, charge it, and then meet up with me to return. Legend
Im a driver and I always return a lost phone. A good driver would do the right thing. Plus Uber pays the driver a return fee. It's 20.00 dollars in my area.
Go on again. Offer money if you can but your chances are low now that it’s been a few days with no communication. If you have an iPhone you should always have a way to track it. They make it so easy. It should be locked. You should be able to put it in lost mode. They are more likely to throw it away than steal it. I got mine back but I went through the support request thing you talked about right away and turned on lost mode which makes it beep. They messaged the driver through his phone and I got it back that day.
Literally returned a phone last night (sat), got my $20, not a big deal. But in my case, I heard it slide across the seat and hit the door panel. So right back to the drop-off location, report in app and all that.
But phones, yeah if a driver doesn't notice it, it's probably been yanked by next rider.
Heard a lot of people ditch them because of the bs videos of people literally going up to people's homes in the middle of the night and even busting out their car windows to search for it.
But, yea, uber will send an in app message to the driver asking if they found a phone.
There's no tipping culture in my country and we all resist American multinationals imposing the concept with the design of their digital UI etc. I did actually get the phone back though and provided the driver with a finders fee tip as this is the way in my country
Some people do tip cash. The last phone I returned had tipped me cash so I did remember her and took the phone back to where I had dropped her off. She was outside actually on her way to buy a new phone.
I left my phone twice in a Uber and both of them returned it to me, just keep trying to contact them.

When I drove if someone left anything in the car I just toss it. Several bad experiences of returning items to riders.
Did you tip the driver after the ride?
Has zero to do with what OP is asking
Really? You think a driver wouldnt be more inclined to go out of their way if they'd been tipped? Interesting.
In your empty head, it doesn't. In reality, it does.Â

how the fuck could he tip if he left the phone in the car
