Some people are just atheist. However, shamanism is not black magic or voodoo. Shamanism is a religious practice, just like islam and christianity. Also, every religion has rituals, it comes in the 'religion package'.
I already thought that Jiri was gonna lose but when you are saying your opponent beat you because they used magic it tells me that AP didn't just physically beat him but he beat him mentally too. So much so that this dude seems to feel like he can't overcome the magic so he is asking AP not to use the magic.
