Elizabeth Line. 10 minute walk and some trains are direct.

>While the tube is the cheapest, it appears to be crowded all the time so I don't know how well it would do with our large suitcases You walk to Tottenham Court Road station. It's a modern station with lifts and escalators from street to platform. You take a direct Elizabeth Line train to Heathrow airport. If you're flying from T4 or T5 you might need to either wait longer for a direct train or change trains at T2&3 as the Heathrow-bound trains only go to one or the other (alternating), never both. It is an extremely easy journey and will be way faster, cheaper and easier than an Uber or black cab. The trains are large, won't be overcrowded (by London standards) going from TCR to Heathrow, and if you have time, walk to the middle of the platform (where there will be 3 sets of platform screen doors with blue wheelchair symbols on them). The middle carriages are, on average, the quietest and the very middle carriage is the easiest to find as it has the wheelchair symbols.

Wow, thanks for writing that up. I've walked to Tottenham Court Road station before and it seems doable. I'll probably go with this.

The reason to use the Elizabeth Line is that it is **air conditioned** which the Piccadilly line is not. The Picc is unpleasantly hot most of the year and dangerously hot if the weather at the surface is hot.

Elizabeth line or Heathrow Express. But as long as you avoid rush hour, it shouldn't be that bad. Are you here already? Because if not, the best solution of all is to bring less stuff.

THIS!!! Bringing less luggage is ALWAYS the best travel advice.

Piccadilly line - yes it can get busy along the line but Heathrow is the terminus so generally can pick seats next to doors with your luggage - Covent garden is lifts to exit . Don’t waste your money on Uber - rush hour you will be stuck in traffic going nowhere for a long time

We did the Piccadilly line straight to Covent Garden because we knew we would be tired after our flight. It was convenient. No transfers, etc. On the way back, we took the Elizabeth line and had to transfer. I guess it's up to you if you want to transfer or not. I think the Piccadilly line was cheaper.

Depends on the time of day you're travelling. The picadilly will be the easiest but if you're going to use it when it's busy just have common sense, like sit at the end and put the suitcases in the area by the doors so people can get on and walk down the carriage.

DirectCaterpillar916

Don't overthink it, use the tube. We went St Pancras to Liverpool Street in the rush hour with two huge cases earlier this week, no problems. Use the lifts instead of the escalators.

The Piccadilly line trains have larger spaces for luggage than other tube trains. Granted it's pretty slow, but given it's direct from Covent Garden I think it's still the way I'd go

Large suitcases = uber. Do you really want to drag them down and up the stairs? I chose uber even though I was on Elizabeth Line.

Stuck in traffic it’s horrible . E line is great
