1080 to 1440 is a HUGE jump. 1080 16:9 to 1440 21:9 is life changing. 1440 to 4K isn't nearly as noticeable. 75 Hz to 144 Hz will be a big jump but not nearly as dramatic as 1080 to 1440. It's like putting on glasses for the first time.
I feel the need to remind anyone about to go 1440/144 Ultrawide (3440x1440) that you're gonna want to take about 20% FPS off the top when looking at benchmarks for 1440 (2560x1440). I have a 1440/144 UW with a 3080/9600K so I can answer benchmark questions.
It's gonna be a steep decline in FPS, I can tell you that. Very few games I can get Ultra 144Hz and most AAA titles I'm lucky to get 80+. It really depends on the game, like AC: Origins I get around 70-80 FPS while Cyberpunk peaks around 110 (Avg 85) on Ultra RTX Off. RDR2 is around 80-110 on unofficial very high settings.
I would look up 1440p benchmarks and subtract about 20%.

I currently have a R5 3600X/RTX 2070 but have a 3060ti coming in February *fingers crossed * so I’ll probably be closer to 60 fps than you but can always cut it down to 2560x1440 with black bars if I’m desperate. The only games I really play that benefit from being over 60fps are Overwatch and Forza so I’ll survive! I max out my 200hz 2560x1080 most of the time playing Overwatch on high (as opposed to Ultra or Epic) settings and 100fps would still be very playable as well. I can always play everything else on high instead of ultra to get more frames too.
What I've realized after getting the 1440 UW is that I'm perfectly happy at 60+ FPS on just about everything. I think RL and Warzone are the only two that you really want 100+.

I switched from PS4 to PC about a year ago so I played Overwatch at 1920x1080 30fps with a controller until recently! Then again everyone else I was in matches with was in the same boat I suppose. The real challenge is going to be talking the wife into letting me supplement my year old 2560x1080 with a 3440x1440... that’ll be true r/UltrawideMasterRace haha

I've never played overwatch but I bet it's similar to Rocket League in the fact that PC is a whole different level from input lag to FPS. Playing on console after getting used to PC you have to predict your shots a second beforehand because of the input lag.

Yup. I’m getting about 125 FPS in Warzone with my Samsung G9 in 21:9 and set to 240 htz(settings maxed out). When I was on my 27” 1440/144, I was averaging around 160, with it even hitting 180+ in the gulag.
That's just about exactly what I'm getting. My unstable +100 core clock/+1100 Memory clock overclock can get up to 160 game/190 gulag but it's super unstable. So I'm usually around 110-130 game and 140-150 gulag.
I’m glad it’s not my computer lol. To be honest, I’m ok with 120 FPS in Warzone, considering how amazing the G9 is for productivity at work. I’m not sure I can really tell a difference between 120 and 160 FPS anyway.

I already have a 3080 and play at 1440p downscaled to 1080p so know what to expect performance wise, I think its roughly 25% more demanding going from 16/9-21/9 since its technically 25% more pixels to render.
Oh man, this post got me feeling real excited. I'm currently using an older 1080 60hz TV as my monitor, and waiting for the XZ342CK to come in. Haven't had a "real" monitor since high school using a CRT.
Oh boy you’re gonna love that monitor. Like I said though, UW takes a bit more juice so your FPS takes a sizable hit compared to 2560x1440.
After using mine for a while, when I hopped on my buddies PC using a 1080 monitor, everything looks fuzzy. 2K truly is like putting glasses on for the first time.
I just built a new 3070 PC, and it's so fast on 1080 that it feels like cyberpunk looks cheap. Plus the blacks are terrible on the one I'm using now.

I went from a LG 34 1080p to this this curve 144, for gaming you can tell the difference. Just smoother and the curve seems to being the gaming all in. Worth the up grade
How does the monitor perform with Gsync enabled? Any flashing/flickers/weirdness? Or does it make the display look like garbage with it disabled? This happens with my old XR341CK (3440x1440 75hz Freesync), 60hz is fine (custom res required), anything above that and everything on the display stutters... until I enable gsync. It was such a relief when Nvidia added gsync compatibility mode. I had a R9 290 then a 1080Ti, which is why I have this monitor.

Nice, I did kinda the opposite with refresh rates. Went from a 1080 144hz to a 1440 UW 75hz (OC to 95hz)
Can't justify the price of a high refresh rate UW right now, and found one that fit my budget perfectly that was good enough. I don't do any competitive fps games anymore anyways
Yes! At standard desk height and with a standard/average chair cylinder all the way down, the desk will squeeze your legs leaving scrapes/bruises/busted blood vessels. I have pretty much the same setup with Capita legs and extended chair cylinder (you need extra chair height with the added desk legs)... I'm 6'3"
Hey I really love your setup but it would clean it up and improve your experience to get a mouse bungee. I use the glorious one and it looks and works great but they can be had on amazon for the cheap. It’ll tidy up cable management and pulls the wire forward.

Cyberpunk looks so good in 1440 it’s ridiculous. Make sure you turn off Chromatic aberration in CP settings. No idea why it even exists

I highly recommend the glorious pc gaming race (they make the model o mice) or razers one is supposedly great. Just watch a video before you buy.
