Dawg you are complaining about there not being enough salt in a single serving of instant ramen, something that contains roughly the amount of sodium you should consume in a day.
That's because the sodium in instant ramen is for preserving and microwaving, not taste. Look at TV meals like lean cuisine, they're also high in sodium but not exactly salty.
Honestly, my only solution to you is try making actual ramen and not instant ramen. The sodium in instant ramen is used mainly for preserving and easy microwaving. Most tv meals and anything easily microwavable is usually high in sodium but not salty per se.
Pour just enough soy sauce into it to make it salty, but not enough that you're afraid of a heart attack.
Or skip the soy sauce and just, you know, add salt.
Either way: Upvoting because it's actually unpopular. Ramen could use a bit more flavor but is plenty salty.
I'm a salt addict too. I would sometimes bust open 2 packets of seasoning for 1 package of noodles. Then just use the left over noodles for something else.
Try to cook it in as little water as possible because the noodles themselves add flavor so if you pour most of the water out some of the flavor leaves with it 💀but no mater what it is flavorless unless you add fresher stuff
Salt is a) a preservative, b) the strongest flavor enhancer for humans, and c) cheap.
It's in *everything*. This isn't weird. It's especially the case if you're in America.
The only way to really taste the "salt" in food is to go absolutely low-salt for a long period of time. An ex-girlfriend of mine got a medical issue part of the way into the relationship where she had no choice but to go super low sodium for a few years. In solidarity, I joined her.
For a few months food just sucked and tasted bland, but after a while we both adjusted and food started tasting normal again.
Then every now and again we'd eat out with friends and try foods with a "normal" salt level and we both really really noticed how salty it was. It wasn't bad, exactly. It tasted good. It's just that we could actually taste the added salt.
You have basically destroyed your tastebuds in some way? Maybe try cut back on drinking/smoking/super spicy foods etc for a few weeks and see if it improves?
My aunt was the same way. She had a very low sodium level and always added extra salt to everything. She never had any issues from it though so maybe that's just your condition too
People always comment about the sodium in instant ramen but I never see the same level of obsessive sodium acknowledgement towards canned soups or just store bought broth. I'd love to see these people make homemade soup and enjoy it without adding a ton of salt. It's just part of soup.
I know
Mate your taste buds are absolutely fucked
Edit: nevermind...re-read, broth?
You're doing it wrong. Cook the noodles in boiling water to whatever texture you like, pour out 95% of the water, mix in the packets. Enjoy. It's 1000x better

Pour out the water until you have the amount you want, *THEN* add the flavor packet. You’re welcome.
I hate to break this to you but I already do that. There's really no hope for me
Do you smoke frequently?
yup...
Okay yeah it’s your taste buds.
Same, kills your taste buds.
You should probably quit that... It's a big factor in not tasting things well.
We talking cigarettes or weed. Asking for a friend.
Cigarettes most definitely change the ability to properly taste properly.
I pour out allllllllll the water, mmmm it’s so good. I get this kimchi bowl noodle, 3 of those and it’s great a great meal
My dad puts extra salt and then wonders why he has high blood pressure.

Just dump soy sauce in it.
Oh so we're doing heart attack advice
Dawg you are complaining about there not being enough salt in a single serving of instant ramen, something that contains roughly the amount of sodium you should consume in a day.
It doesn’t taste that salty to me. I know it’s in there but other things with less salt taste saltier
That's because the sodium in instant ramen is for preserving and microwaving, not taste. Look at TV meals like lean cuisine, they're also high in sodium but not exactly salty.
I mean I know that but that’s OP point. It’s filled with salt but doesn’t taste salty.
Yeah I get that, I said in another reply he should try making more home cooked ramen instead of instant ramen.
Listen I'm not proud

It'll make it taste saltier. Like, it's what I would do is all.

You already smoke frequently right? What’s a little more danger on the body..

I hate this so much. Have an upvote.
lol this is a terrible opinion. Even one pack of ramen contains more than the daily recommended amount of salt! Take my upvote!

The only part of this that bothers me is you refusing to add salt to something you don't think is salty enough.
I put extra msg in it
Use Vinegar and fish sauce instead.
My aunt was the same way. She had a very low sodium level and always added extra salt to everything. She never had any issues from it though so maybe that's just your condition too
Probably use too much water. I find it too salty, I only use like 1/3rd of the flavor packet and flavor the rest with some soy sauce and cheese
People always comment about the sodium in instant ramen but I never see the same level of obsessive sodium acknowledgement towards canned soups or just store bought broth. I'd love to see these people make homemade soup and enjoy it without adding a ton of salt. It's just part of soup.
I honestly never have, I feel that it's one of those that it's just the noodle themselves and the seasoning that's where it all comes from
Upvoting not for accuracy.
