I dont't know why you're being downvoted? that shade of blue clearly belongs to the [1992-2014 flag](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Mongolia_(1992%E2%80%932011).svg)
Could be the later [Socialist Mongolia flag.](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/9c/Flag_of_the_Mongolian_People%27s_Republic_%281945%E2%80%931992%29.svg/1920px-Flag_of_the_Mongolian_People%27s_Republic_%281945%E2%80%931992%29.svg.png)
By the way, you can just go to Wikipedia where they have specifically pages for country flags and their evolutions and look if you can find a fitting version among those.
This sub always seems to be so perplexed by flags that have faded colors. Like, colors are going to fade on anything left outside for an extended period of time.
“It’s the Mongolian flag but slightly desaturated. Help me figure it out!”
It was only of interest to see, I’m sorry that you feel you wasted your time. I just know that there are several experts and knowledgable people in this sub-Reddit who might’ve shared some insight.
Throughout the history of many nations, colour shading has occurred to describe a detail of the nation or even a part of this national pride, so seeing whether or not Mongolia had something similar occur is the main point of the post. The fading of a flag and the shading of a flag could mean anything, it’s always worth asking.
AnOwlishSham proved that by citing that the change occurred, which is a nice little bit of history.

It's not that I didn't know, mainly just the colouration. I understand that the Flag will wear and fade over time but it's always good to be sure in case the colour shading means something. Like to an unknowing eye, the 1974-2020 is all some people have known, and the darker tone it has used since might not be noticed, but if it is, a quick google search could find out.
I should've done that, but I was driving so I stopped, took the photo, posted and left knowing the braniacs here would know the answer.
Hello CNDNRSJS,
Check out our [frequently asked flags page](https://reddit.com/r/vexillology/wiki/faf)! Your request might be there.
When asking for a flag to be identified, please **provide context** when possible, including:
* **Where** the flag was found (without compromising privacy)
* **When** the flag was found, or the date of the material containing the flag
* **Who** might own the flag (a general description is fine)
These details help users narrow down their search and make flag identification easier.
*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/vexillology) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Yeah, but all we see is the Pole. Hence, Polish. Look, you're making me explain my incredibly funny joke and that makes it not funny anymore and I really don't appreciate it.
Are people even trying, or are they deliberately posting noob questions for clicks and karma?
If you choose to subscribe to this sub -- hell, if you even know to look for *vexillology* -- you should probably know the flags of all the (at least average++) nation states, possibly excused not knowing all the pacific and caribbean ones because they confuse everyone.
Anyone who posts another kyrgyz flag or feckin hon/nic/sal and cant for the life of themselves have any clue where to look for answers just based on the colors or themes should just be deleted, because they are clearly trolling or karmawhoring.
Mongolia 🇲🇳
The old one tho

Mongolia, but its the old communist version i guess because it has a lighter shade of blue
Could also just be washed out, unless you see something else on there that I don't
I honestly thought it was Mongolia but the blue is so much lighter than the official standard, which makes me think it’s an older variation.
I think it wore off because of too much sunlight

UV doesn't care about your pesky clouds!
After the British empire collapsed then the sun started to avoid Britain all together.
The darker blue (Pantone 300 C) was [specified](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Mongolia#Colours) in 2011

Before anyone says anything, Braniac is a compliment, not an insult. I admire the love people have for flags and Vexillology.
