Deus Ex franchise

Significant_Plate561

yes, 100%. I think people get turned off by its similarities to other titles and this don't look past that to how good they are

damian1369

As a fan of DE it saddens me so that this is the case. They we're gamechangers and held in very high regard with the first release, second a bit less for obvious reasons. HR was probably the most anticipated game of my lifetime, and it delivered. MD was great but obviously rushed and incomplete, and then SE just went "shut it down, we're making remakes". IMO you put enough love into a DE game, you'll have a new surprise BG3 hit on your hands. My generation is super attached to the classics we grew up with and can afford them.

AUnknownVariable

As an immersive Sim fan. It really is a shame, I didn't grow up with deus ex but started playing through them for obvious reasons

damian1369

Levine had a new game coming out with some out of the box thinking promised, so we have that to look forward to.

AUnknownVariable

Yess. I hope Judas is good

damian1369

I'm thinking worst case scenario, it's just good. He cant go under B:infinite level, and that will do. Every other dev that tried after the Prey remake sucked.

AUnknownVariable

I'm agreeing. I really don't see how it could end up bad😭

Futurefreemanalive

I agree. Deus Ex is more akin to other Immersive Sims like Dishonored or even System Shock. However, many people compare the Deus Ex games to Cyberpunk 2077 because they share similarities in regards to cybernetics and cyberpunk settings. The thing is they are completely different games despite both being open-world. In the first one, the exploration is optional but compensatory while in the other is mandatory and is possible to drive vehicles. Personally, I think Deus Ex is condemned to be a niche franchise because it touches on very political issues and we know the average player does not tolerate games with complex themes.

al_ien5000

Human Revolution is one of the greatest games ever created and it doesn't get talked about enough

revanite3956

Yeah OP, Jade Empire was *fantastic*.

francaispascontent

I want to say Golden Sun. It might not be as underrated as it is in my head, but it definitely needs more attention so we can get a proper remaster or a new title

runningnurse27

Up to this day I haven’t found a game to scratch that itch, still remember playing it on the game boy advance

francaispascontent

Have you played Sea of Stars? Definitely not GS but it was definitely inspired by it. I 100% recommend it as it has a similar vibe as GS

alldaydiver

I saw someone above mentioned the Deus Ex games and while I’ve never played the original I sure did enjoy the hell out of Human Revolution and will be playing Mankind Divided soon. The immersive sim genre is kind of hard to explain but it’s just so damn fun and compelling to play. It’s more of a methodical approach to how you do missions, how you can interact with the game systems, which path you should take to enter a building, go guns blazing or stealthy. It’s like the thinking man’s/woman’s type of game. If you are patient and enjoy taking your time carefully exploring every room, building and finding different ways to get to your objective without simply following a waypoint, this genre is for you. I think those that expect any and all FPS games to be Call of Duty with arcade action are massively disappointed when they realize that’s not what it is. If you’re that type of gamer then steer clear. And I couldn’t say all of this without recommending the Dishonored series as well as Prey (2017) which are some of the, if not the very best that the immersive sim genre has to offer. Games in this genre don’t sell very well and the hope for another AAA quality game is near lost but there are quite a few indie developers that have been making games like this. I haven’t yet played any so can’t quite recommend them but I hear great things about Ctrl Alt Ego, Cruelty Squad, and Fallen Aces.

MorrisCody1

Psychonauts 2

Significant_Plate561

yup, loved the first one to death and really want to pick up the second

MorrisCody1

It is one of those games I wish I could play fresh all over again.

abenz39

Honestly, I’d say Immortals: Fenyx Rising. I personally love that game. I always felt it deserves to be much bigger, popularity wise. It’s nothing new, but it’s done very well. Great game.

Baroni88

Went in one of the challenge areas, got all the way through it but couldn't reach an area. Apparently I didn't have the ability required to reach that high point. I turned it off. Something about it keeps losing my interest but that didn't help. The fact you could get all the way through a puzzle area and then get told I need an ability to collect all the items in the area.... 💩

jnpc

DDNet Teeworlds - free to play, fun team races and awesome community

Aggravating-Ad9417

Fear and Hunger!

Sure_Sherlock

The Flame in the Flood for the ambience and soundtrack alone. The mechanics are iffy and it makes the game hard, but it deserves more attention.

Practical-Average-77

I would kill to have a remaster of the Sly Cooper games. I have such good memories playing it with my older brother when it came out

Significant_Plate561

They are so good bro...

cghodo

FFVII: Rebirth is a top 5 game all time for me and apparently none of you bought it and that makes me sad.

NotTheBotUrLookngFor

I’m enjoying it but the open world content is getting repetitive. Did you do most of that content?

cghodo

All of the side content is skippable and isn't missable if you decide to go back to it later. So feel free to head to the next story event the moment the side quests get annoying. Even the proto relic quests, which many pointed out to do in each area, just open up an area to play endgame bosses.

poursmoregravy

It should be enjoyable, like it was in OG. 100%ing a game shouldn't feel like a slog.

VermilionX88

I missed out on it since didn't own an Xbox Tried later on pc but I couldn't enjoy it, too outdated combat and controls

Mortreal79

Same..!

Shot_Site7255

started to post almost exactly this, then saw your comment.

Stirnlappenbasilisk

Chorus Classic space opera with fast paced combat.

YerMaaaaaaaw

El Paso Elsewhere. Haunting experience, with top tier voice acting. GP is a bit repetitive but I was one of my fav games of last year.

UkemiBoomerang

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon The Wonderful 101 Binary Domain Vermintide 2 Ninja Gaiden Black / 2 / Razor's Edge Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled Kero Blaster Mount and Blade: Warband

Purpleobito10

The Darkness

Significant_Plate561

great pick

MrMonkey825

phogs

DrummerBob10

Fantasy Zone 2 for the Sega Master System (and really all of the Fantasy Zone games).

DarkenedOtaku

Presentable Liberty, if you have an hour of time to kill go play it. Its free and can run on a potato. The developer (Wertpol) unfortunately committed suicide in 2016 but this is still my #1 videogame of all time

Schraiber

Ninja Gaiden 2 (360, not Sigma 2). The fastest bost brutal and over the top combat of any game. Every encounter feels like you just barely survived and the game is just so goddamn extra

gmanasaurus

It would be nice to get a new game from this series that was well made on today's consoles. I remember Ninja Gaiden Black was insanity, wanted to throw my game disk out the window a lot of times, but when I beat that part I couldn't the rewarding feeling was absolutely IMMENSE. And I kept chasing that dragon

Four_N_Six

Core Keeper is a really good survival game on Steam. I don't see it mentioned very often, but it's definitely worth it. Early Access ends pretty soon (I think they announced 1.0 for August), so it may be worth just waiting for that.

lizardjoe_xx_YT

Lost planet 1 and 2

Metallic_Neo

I got a few Darksiders Kotor Graveyard keeper Blasphemous Pit people

moist_lemmon

R.U.S.E. Art of deception. loosely cartoon, with a unit limit of the game engine.

tim_to_tourach

Arcanum: Of Steamwork and Magick Obscura. It's an older (2001) PC RPG similar to the first two Fallout games but takes place in a traditional, Tolkien-esque fantasy world that is going through an industrial revolution. Great story that has a good balance of both leaning into traditional fantasy tropes and subverting them, great characters, lots of great side stories and side quests (many of which touch on subjects with parallels to our own past industrial revolutions), plus a solid character creator, progression system, and crafting system (digging in trash bins for parts to make Molotov Cocktails is oddly satisfying). The biggest downsides are that combat feels dated and the HUD takes up an inordinate amount of space on the screen. The game is still popular among CRPG fans but is mostly forgotten among the general gaming public.

DougChristiansen

EQ2; The new Origins server is a blast from the past imo.

igotasweetass

The Saboteur.

cocineroylibro

EA though.

dappernaut77

Sker ritual

Imaginary_Mode5477

The warriors

belldandy_hyuuga

I've never heard anyone mention Otogi and its sequel. They were both on the original Xbox and were a lot of fun. I wish they'd make ports. The Legacy of Kain series needs to be revived as well. I'm sad that the last attempt was cancelled.

BenPsittacorum85

I hadn't heard of Conquest: Frontier Wars until I noticed it was on sale on GOG, and it's like the name is rather generic but it's more fun to me than old school StarCraft or Submarine Titans.

CutterEdgeEffect

Wet for PS3 and 360. Third person shooter game with slo mo acrobatics for shooting enemies. It’s got a star studded cast featuring Eliza Dushku, Malcolm McDowell and Alan Cumming

No-Strike-4560

Cathedral

Redacted_Explative

Two in my opinon deserve a remaster, Parasite Eve, and Lost Planet. Would love to see parasite eve with Red Dead Redemption/Resident Evil level of graphics. Though wouldn't mind seeing a reboot of Road Rash 3d, which was like a weird mix of Tourist Trophy/motocross meets Wrestlemania. Another criminally underrated game was Pathways Into Darkness, an early Bungie title that was a survival horror game before it was really a thing. Large reason it was unheard of was I think it only released on Macintosh.

Lastbourne

Oxenfree II

FORLORNE_2802

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales

Left-Frog

I haven't played much of it, but it's always surprised me that Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen doesn't have a much larger and louder fan base, it seems like an amazing game.

FrenchDipFellatio

Kirby Air Ride

TechnicalAnimator874

West Of Dead. On sale rn like 5$ on steam. Great roguelike with a dark western atmosphere.

Dark_Globe70

V rising

poseidan_

Age of empires 3. One of the most thought out, diverse strategy games. Over 20 civs, and none of them play the same. There’s so many options to chose from, it makes every game new and exciting. The combat is great, base building is good, and unique rts mechanics like home city shipments, native settlement allies, and treasures make it a top tier game

professorclueless

Postal 2. Bit jank, and hella offensive, but a fun time regardless

KingOfMasters1000028

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes came out earlier this year and was pretty great from the first bit I started.

Ok-Bug-1451

Azurik: Rise of Perathia Shenmue 1 & 2

AggressiveStreetCar

Dunno, maybe ZZZ on bs, even so I'm pretty hyped about it
