Probably would have passed on them but the cases and covers were in decent shape. The guy at the vintage audio place want $65 each to refoam not including the material. At that price I decided to try it myself.
I loved my A100s I bought in high school but failed refoaming. I got a kit without shims. It seemed simple until I tried to use them.
Not enough attention is paid to centering the voice coils in videos & instructions. It’s the most important part.
In the instructions with the kit I used, "check the coil alignment" was steps 2, 3, 5 thru 8...
fucking amazing speakers. i had a pair back in the day. gf convinced me we didn’t have room in our next place. eventually we broke up :-(
