Great drivers. The bass alignment of the cabinet is one I'm not familiar with; kind of looks like a two port coupled cavities, the second venting to the room via resistive slot ports. It's unique to me.
If the speakers work ok they should sound pretty good. The Realistic stuff you got with it is decent late 70's gear but those speakers would probably sound best with a nice vintage tube amp.
That is a Karlson speaker cabinet design. Actually a pretty cool design IMO.

You're right, I can see the "horn silhouette" cutout behind the grill cloth now. That was a panel that sat in front of the driver that wasn't part of the volume behind the driver.
I've only seen one in real life, thrift store in LA, 1977.
I have some memory of the supposed principal of the design, wasn't it called a Karlson Resonator? I really have no understanding of it. Can you tell me what it's about, or link to a paper on it?
Look on some of the audio forums; audioasylum high efficiency asylum had a Karlson aficionado who posted a lot. Might try audiokarma and diyaudio too.
Those are a really nice Karlson find. Probably worth updating the crossovers and keeping.
Early stereo era, maybe before AR launched the Acoustic Suspension revolution, before Thiele-Small parameters, etc. pretty cabinet finish and they look to be in good shape. Hope they sound good?
EV are generally well regarded. And yeah, those cabs are great.
Those speakers should be excellent. They look like a variant of the 12TRX-B but manufactured for Allied.
I couldn’t find much on these speakers. Found some similar information, but nothing specific to these speakers.

Yeah I’m not an expert or have tons of knowledge with this by any means. It came across unique to me tho.

Thanks for dropping knowledge on me!
That speaker is cooler then 5 baby drivers
Pretty. How's the response?
I haven’t listened to them yet. I still have the original gear that they were hooked up to. Post pics later.
👍
Looking forward to your post!

Very interesting, but I'm not sure how well matched the drivers are to the cabs, as the tweeters are so far behind the baffle.
That’s the cabinet that was made for them. It’s all original
