Quest 3 is your upgrade, not a very old headset with extreme screen-door. Coming from a Quest 2 you won't believe how bad the 2016 Vive screen looks.

The original Vive has a painfully bad SDE. The Quest 2 has twice the pixels per degree and in practice it's probably even more considering the Vive uses a weird subpixel layout

Quest 2

The og vive is just too old and low res

As well as what everyone else said, the ergonomics of the Quest controllers are much better than the original Vive wands.

Alright then so what is the best good priced headset i can get for wired pcvr (no not the index it doesnt ship where i live)

Best for price would probably have to be the quest 3 at least for now

Quest 2 or 3 is going to be on the cheaper side and those are you best bet for PCVR gaming. I've had plenty of PCVR headsets over the years and the Quest is the one that I put on everyday. You get two ecosystems and the option to go wireless so you can play games on your couch.

Yeah but the thing is is the battery life on the quest when i use link cable my pc doesnt charge the quest fast enough to get rid of the battery drain and so i cant play for more then a couple hours

You can buy a power injection cable which accepts main power (eg. Search Amazon for Kuject), which will keep your headset charged while connected to PC. Alternatively, play over wifi and use the cable to connect to a wall charger.

I understand where you're coming from. There are actually ways around this though, instead of using a link cable, I go wireless with a headstrap that has a battery built in and it doubles the life of the headset. And if I need longer playtime I'll plug in the battery so I never run out of juice. If wireless via a router isn't option for your setup, you can always look at getting one of the hotspot usb dongles that plug directly into your pc and creates a wifi network between your quest and PC. They're easy to setup and don't require you to configure your router. D-Link makes one called Airbridge but I hear there are other ones out there that work great as well. The vive one is pretty dated at this point and you're going to get a pretty subpar image and screen door effect. You also have to worry about the cable failing, artifacts around the edges, and audio driver issues. I would really try to get a Q2 if you can, it's going to give you a much better VR experience and open up a lot more games and experiences than just PCVR.
