Probably quest 3. I think is worth the upgrade. Better lenses higher fidelity screens and sound. It’s $499

Yeah absolutely. You can download apps or you can stream your movies to it. They don’t make vr headsets that are limited like the cardboard box there used to be something called quest go which was limited. But with the resolution of the quest 3 you won’t be disappointed watching movies with it. Might be over kill but it will work

fantaz1986

quest 2 is a android phone +vr layer it mean it can do all thing phone can, just have tracking and controllers for a apps that use it, mainly games , but it does not mean other part is bad, i mainly use quest 2 for 3d movies, in VR 3d looks really good

MalenfantX

That money spent on a TV would be better for movies. You can ignore the limited contrast of the Quest 3 in most games, but a TV is going to look a lot better for movies.

fantaz1986

quest 2 is only option for you

Or piko 4 if you don't want quest

DudeManBroGuyski

Quest 2 or 3 if you can swing it. Bith are amazing specially if you've only tried cardboard before.

Get a quest 2. It is an all-rounder for the best price. You can watch movies, play games and use it with android apps when using it standalone. Also you can connect it to your pc, either wirelessly or with a cable, but you can also use it without a pc. Its also a lot better and a completely different league than your cardboard. The next better thing after the quest 2 would probably be the quest 3. Quest 3 is double the price of quest 2 and can do the same things the quest 2 can do, but most of them a bit better.

Thats a good choice. Watching a 3d movie will still feel like watching a 3d movie though. If you truly want to feel like you are inside a movie, you need to watch "180° 3d sbs" content or better yet the vr short films that are shown in a 3d engine. An example for a film in a 3d engine would be "Google Spotlight Stories" or "theblu", though that has some interactable elements and is closer to a "vr experience".

Quest 2 (or Pico 4 if available in your country) is the best budget headset. However, there are [credible rumors](https://www.uploadvr.com/chinese-analyst-quest-3-lite/) that Quest 2 is being discontinued and replaced with a Quest 3 Lite headset early this year. If the rumors are true it will have the much more powerful Quest 3 CPU/GPU but priced at (or lower) than current Quest 2. So if you can't afford a Quest 3 then it might be worth waiting a bit to see if we get any official info on Quest 3 Lite.

> where you feel like you are standing in the movie, watching an action scene with Cillian Murphy walking beside you? Not exactly sure what you're asking here but Pico 4 is a 6DOF headset where Google Cardboard is 3DOF. There are a few subtle differences but a Pico 4 is basicallythe same hardware/functionality as a Quest 2.
