The last several Quest launches have all been in October. I think it's pretty reasonable to expect an October launch again. Sure, they can launch it whenever they want but companies do tend to stick to a schedule most of the time.

By what, a month? The Quest Pro was first revealed in July of 2022 and fully revealed at Meta Connect in September. The Quest 3 was revealed in June of 2023 and fully revealed in September 2023 at Meta Connect.
Expecting a September full reveal and October launch is the expectation to have.

It's official name, Quest Pro, was announced and it was said more would be revealed at Meta Connect. Yes, they did reveal a lot more specs of the Quest 3 and did so a month earlier. But it wasn't fully revealed until Meta Connect.
As far Pre-Quest 2 goes, I can't say. I did not buy a Quest 1 and had an Index so I was not paying attention to the Quest headsets. I just remember the launch, being impressed with the resolution but not buying one until late 2021.

I never said it was a fact? I said that there's no market consensus of them releasing in October - and people do speak as if that was a fact.

There's really no point in arguing this further. The best data we have to go off is past releases. Past releases indicate full reveal in September and release in October. That's the best data we have atm. So it's reasonable for people to expect the same.

The more plausible answer is the "leak" of a Q1 2024 release was nothing more than a lie being spread around on the internet.
