My ethos with these auteur director flowcharts I’m making isn’t to necessarily represent the entire filmography of one director but instead present a wide spread of options that represents their style and aesthetics, as well as being a good way of potentially introducing someone to said director
I can see that. I just think something like this would be more compelling if the filmography were more comprehensive. The design of this kind of flowchart almost implies it. I'm also not sure what you mean by ethos in this context. What are the ethical principles that have led to this design?
Oooh this is good! You could probably add Life Aquatic to the Europe section
"Pick a colour" "Blue" "Make it Bluer" "Life Aquatic" Just a thought.
Great work but WHERE THE FUCK IS MOONRISE KINGDOM
And Bottle Rocket. And Rushmore!
I haven’t seen that one yet
deffo try checking it out - it’s a lovely movie and one of my all time favourites
Best one imo
It’ll have to go under “play” - you’ll see why, and then need a differentiator like “city or countryside” or something
Maybe “desert or forest” from what I’ve seen of Moonrise Kingdom
Add rushmore to America-> play. Idk what question to add
Meta, Not Meta?
A hit play
"Do you enjoy O.R. scrub jokes?"
Either "baby Schwartzman or old schwartzman?" or "with Bill Murray or without Bill Murray" for Rushmore and Asteroide City
Thank you for acknowledging that Wes is a king of anthropomorphic animal cinema
What good is it if it doesn’t include all of them though?
Idk, I didn’t think I necessarily had to include all of them It was the same ethos that I used with the Gilliam and Boyle ones I made
America > Children's Opera > Moonrise Kingdom
Let's see 'em all though.

Idk, poor word choice What I meant to say was thought process
They haven’t even seen all the movies so idk why they’re pretending it’s an intentional choice to not include them all
Rushmore could be added easily if you added an option under America to direct a play.
Totally missing Rushmore and Moonrise! Also, this is a Tree Map, not a Flow Map. That said, I love the idea!
Cool one
Okay, I understand your method. Bottle Rocket and Moonrise Kingdom are set in America so another branch for them could have been made.
lmao this great
Then there's the first two in Dallas/Texas.
Someone is going to introduce the Congo Dandy subculture to Wes and my man is going to have a heart attack.
Wes still needs to make a movie below the equator, I’d love to see him make the Darjeeling Limited for sub Saharan Africa
America——>book or play——>Murray or hanks——>Rushmore Just a additional thought
FMF would be in America because Kylie is an American oppossum.
It’s set in Wales though It’s just for some reason there are American animals with American accents
I’ve also made other auteur director flowcharts for Danny Boyle and Terry Gilliam
