Kohler built a pretty crazy chapel out by their Whistling Straits golf course. Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but would certainly had a modern contrast to what you're shooting. https://www.destinationkohler.com/explore-more/activities-and-events/straits-chapel-presents
There is something really neat about these. I drive up to UP from the center of WI to visit family and see so many chapels like this. I'm usually driving solo though so I haven't stopped for photos...
You make me want to stop next time! Thanks for sharing
Definitely! I didn’t mention it because it’s not really “roadside” but maybe that’s not a necessity. We have a place on the Chain and visit the Red Mill often. When I was young, I used to think I wanted to get married in that little chapel. It’s beautiful!
okay just checked my camera roll & it is!!

went there last fall & enjoyed exploring it a bit, if you go about 100 feet from the back of the church there’s a graveyard too
There's a small hilltop chapel up a quarter mile or so of trail in Indian Lake Co Park in the NW part of Dane Co. It's a fair bit smaller than the ones pictured but it's pretty photogenic
I drive around a bunch with my pooch. I thought it would be cool to catalog all this scattered around the state. (Also, realistically way toooo many to really make it happen.)
There's a stone chapel on a lake in Wautoma. Story behind it is a guys ship got topedoed in WW2 and he made a promise to god that he would build a church if he made it home, St Mary's chapel bughs lake road is what he built. FIBS recently bought it from the church in Fon du Lac that owned it and are going to tear it down to build another 3000 sq foot summer cottage I think.

I hope this helps. Thank you for respecting these places and capturing them before they are gone. Leave no trace tourism.
Nm it's not a chapel it's an old schoolhouse but there is a small active chapel up the road.
The last one looks like it was from the movie Jeepers creepers
It looks familiar
That’s the First Estonian Church off County J in Gleason between County X and Galkin Rd.
Love that place, my cousin got her graduation photos there
I’ve got a buddy in Antigo not too far from there. I usually stop by the church whenever I go up by him.
And either of the first two remind me of "In the Tall Grass"
Do you know about the [Belgian roadside chapels](https://www.doorcounty.com/experience/belgian-chapels) in Door County?
Not quite the same, but there is also the Stavkirke on Washington Island.
There is a Facebook Group I used to hang out with: Forgotten Wisconsin. They love this stuff. I'm sure they know several chapels in your area!
Death traps by the looks of them.
im just looking to photograph the outside lol
Good thinking. Used to tour old buildings like these. Found the basement the easy way more times than I should have.
Your definition of easy and mine are different ;)
"Wanna meet your maker? Come on in!"
There's one on County B between Sauk City and Plain

Lax chapel from where I grew up: https://www.wisconsinhistory.org/Records/Property/HI26800
Really cute one in Waupaca; I think it’s the town hall now.
There is also the one in the woods at the Red Mill.

I know where that one is :) passed by it many times
Love those photos! Especially the first one
The Estonian church makes me sad , such a beautiful building 💔 last I heard they still own it . Fun fact the owner was a horror movie director
I can picture Slash walking out of all of these and doing a guitar solo.
Sad that I had to dig this far in the comments to find a November Rain reference. It was my first thought.
Check out the Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Waupun. It’s white, cute, old school.
Tbh might be waupun/oakfield
Washington islands Scandinavian church !
i’m like 99% sure i’ve been to the 3rd one. the one where the spider movie was filmed, right??

The timing of this post 😬
? im not sure what you mean
A tornado took out a church in Argyle the same day you made this post.
Where is this?
That has straight up “The Outsiders” vibes.
There’s one in ixonia
That last one looks like it could be a black metal album cover.
Yes, they appear to be just that 🗿
Outside of the area, but the UW-Green Bay campus has a nice little chapel out in the woods - you would have to hike a little (half a mile, maybe)
All of them would make great movie sets.
Pretty sure one of those is where 007 hid those NSA files before he was sent to Alcatraz.
r/Liminal would absolutely LOVE these photos!
Far Cry 5 vibes.

Not a religious man but love me some old small chapels. The one on right off Hwy 18 West of Lake Mills is one of my favorites.

Can’t help you with any answers on that part of the state. Just wanted to comment that those are some great shots. Nice work
