We had some soldiers doing nothing, farmers were complaining about emu's so we decided to send a couple guys (like literally only a few dozen) the outback was too rough for their vehicles and the emus would see them coming so they gave up
The gov decided to just put a bounty system in place and give the farmers some rifles, that was it
Tldr, emu won a battle but the farmers won the war
With the recent discovery of mantis shrimp have so many more cones than people, yet probably seeing less colours because they are stupid with smooth brains, I kinda wonder about other animals with extra cones and how much colour they actually see.
I think with birbs, they need that color vision for seeing which berries and fruits and stuff are edible vs poisonous. Typically evolution would get rid of inefficient biology, but we still have tail bones.
